Hello! My name is Lisa Cook and I am an English teacher here at MCHS, as well as one of the co-department chairs.
I am a native of the San Gabriel Valley and attended Arcadia High School. I graduated summa cum laude from UC Riverside with my B.A. in English and earned my English teaching credential and M.Ed from Claremont Graduate University.
I grew up playing club volleyball and played in both high school and college. I used to be a coach here at MCHS, but it's been a while since I've hung up my kneepads. I have since become an avid runner, and love to challenge myself with half-marathons.
I love reading and am a total nerd when it comes to literature. I will always have a book with me no matter where I go. If you are interested to see what I’m reading, check out my page on www.goodreads.com. Some of my favorite books are The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster, East of Eden by John Steinbeck and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
I live in Long Beach with my husband, Tommy, and my daughter, Alice.
I'm in room 54. Stop by any time!
