I am a product of Manhattan Beach schools, and a proud alumnus of Pacific Elementary, Manhattan Beach Intermediate (the forerunner to MBMS), and Mira Costa. Upon graduating from MCHS in 1991, I headed off to UCLA, where I graduated with a degree in Political Science in 1995.
Shortly after getting married (to a Mustang grad, of course!), I began my teaching career here. For the last 18 years, I have taught social studies alongside the finest history teachers in California. Currently, my assignment is both the Advanced Placement and College Prep United States History courses.
To gain a richer understanding of our nation, I have set a family goal of traveling to all fifty states. As of this writing (Summer 2015), we have made it to twenty-nine states, plus the District of Columbia.
I also spent fifteen years on the coaching staff of MCHS Track and Field, before stepping back to devote as much time as possible to my own two children. I've flirted with heading back onto the track...never say never!
