STUDENT INFO
· Attention all club leaders! All first semester club reports along with a completed club roster are due at our club council meeting next Tuesday, Feb. 28 at lunch.
· Scholar Quiz sign-ups will be held on Wednesday, Mar. 1 beginning at 6:45 am in the Auditorium lobby on a first-come, first-served basis. All grades are welcome. Please fill out the Team Entry form (available on the Mira Costa website) and bring it with you. Forms will also be available in the office. We are limited to 64 teams. Competition dates are March 29, 30, 31 and April 3, 4, 5.
· Need community service? Or just want to have FUN? Be part of history and paint with Portraits of Hope by helping with their newest civic art project, “Promoting Pet Adoption through Animal Shelter Revitalizations.” Sign up NOW for their Sat/Sun painting sessions at [email protected]. · Please release the Boys’ Tennis Team on Friday, 2/24 at 10:25 am for a tournament in Santa Barbara. (See email for list of specific students.)
CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

· Whoever said money can’t buy happiness was lying. Come to Investors’ Club every Tuesday in Room 225.
· Reflections: If you are an aspiring writer, poet, or photographer, please submit some of your work to [email protected], and come to Room 207 every Monday if you are interested in becoming an editor.
· Learn how to spread awareness about racism and different religions at Club Harmony on Thursday in Room 207.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
· Visits in the CCC: Please sign-up on Naviance. If the visit is during class time, please get permission from your teacher to attend.
o TODAY, Feb. 23 – Univ. of Alabama at 12:20pm.
o Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 4:00pm Juniors Only – Blue Train ACT/SAT Speed Sessions. Do you have test anxiety? Or do you simply wish you could move faster and think more clearly on exams? Come to an ACT speed session and learn how to push past your own mental barriers. We will be doing pedal-to-the-floor speed drills and exercises to help you learn how to perform better under pressure. Just bring a pencil and a positive attitude. Please sign-up on Naviance or in the CCC.
· SENIORS: If you are participating in the Scholarship Notebook Program, notebooks are DUE TOMORROW, FEBRUARY 24. No exceptions.
· El Camino College Applicants – If you have completed your ECC assessment testing, you can now set up an individual appointment to meet with an ECC Counselor in the CCC. Appointments are available on Wednesdays beginning TODAY from 12:20pm – 2:40pm. Sign-up is required and is available in the CCC.
· Career Speaker Series Professionals in various industries will visit the CCC to speak about their careers and the path they took to get there. This is a great opportunity to learn about different careers and the steps you need to take to gain opportunities for internships and to land your dream job. Please sign-up on Naviance or in the CCC.
