STUDENT INFO           

·        PSAT rosters are posted at admin building and online. Students must be in their testing room on Wednesday, 10/19, ready for the test to begin promptly at 7am.

·        Senior Shirts are back! Come by the Student Store at lunch or nutrition and pick one up! We have all sizes and they are only $10!

·        Shady People Have Returned! And taken over the Art Gallery! Come check out awesome portraits done by  Art 1 classes. They will be on display this whole week at lunch in Room 60.

·        NEED COMMUNITY SERVICE? The next Lunches with Love delivery is Sun, Oct 23. We feed the homeless on Skid Row with your bagged lunches. We are also collecting old backpacks. CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

·        Come to Improv Club every Tuesday (TODAY) at lunch in the Drama Room 1! Be ready to laugh.

·        The Ladies Aid Club focuses on the empowerment and health of women in need! We do community service, including bake sales and trips to health centers! Come join us on Thursdays in Room 20!

·        Do you want to get a chance to make a difference in hospitalized kids’ lives? Come to Six Degrees of a Better Generation this Thursday in Room 350 for more info!

·        Latino Scholars Union is more than just a club, it’s a community. We meet Tuesdays (TODAY) at lunch in Room 73. Everyone is welcome!

·        Want to gain a “Thoreau” understanding of ethics and morality? Come to Young Philosophers’ Society on Wednesdays in Room 45!

·        Young Democrats Club will be holding a voter registration drive on Wednesday, 10/19. Please know your driver license number or the last four digits of your social security number. You can pre-register even if you’re 16!

·        Calling all Young Deplorables! Do you believe in freedom, the Constitution, individual liberties and lower taxes? If so, come to the Young Republicans Club on Tuesday (TODAY) in Mrs. Vaughan’s Room #207 at lunch.

·        Come to Jewish Cultural Club Tuesdays (TODAY) at lunch in Room 200 for great discussions!

·         CCC Updates

The CCC will now be open from 8am - 7pm Monday - Thursday and 8am - 5pm on Fridays. We hope you’ll take advantage of the extra hours and our extended services!

* How to Write a Powerful Essay – 5:30-6:30pm on Tuesday, 10/18. Go to the CCC Calendar on the MCHS website to sign-up.

*FAFSA Information Session – 5:30-6:30pm on Tuesday, 10/25.  Go to the CCC Calendar on the MCHS website to sign-up.

*College Application Workshop Wednesdays from 2:00-7:00pm. Walk in and work on your college applications and personal statements with support from a CCC counselor. Bring a device or reserve one in the CCC.

*Ninth Grade Planning Meetings  – 6-7pm on multiple dates to accommodate small groups: 10/20, 27; 11/1, 9, 15; 12/1, 5, 14.  9th grade planning, 4-year planning graduation requirements, A-G College entrance requirements, academic goals, extracurricular activities, how to stay in touch. ·         SCROC is now enrolling for its 9-week courses. Classes begin Monday, Nov. 14. Sign up in the Career Center to speak with a SCROC advisor and pick up an application.

·            Test Prep Resources:

o  Revolution Prep is offering free online practice tests. Sign up using this link: https://www.revolutionprep.com/jk-practice-test. Download practice tests and take them in the comfort of your own home.

o  PJ Test Prep is offering Free SAT/ACT Tests on Saturday, Nov. 19 and Sunday, Dec. 4 starting at 10:00am. Take the test and return after a short break to get the results, and learn free test strategy tips. Location for both dates is the Holiday Inn Express, Hermosa Beach. RSVP at www.pjtestprep.com/rsvp.
