· Attention Mustangs: Come out and support your Homecoming Court as they compete in the Mustang Mall! Games start TODAY!
· Homecoming Dance Tickets are on sale now at the Student Store. Ticket prices go up Tuesday, Oct. 11. Prices: with ASB Marker – single $17, couple, $30; without ASB Marker – single $19, couple $34. Bring ID card to buy tickets.
· Are you creative? How about courageous? Apply for the 2016 Clinton Family Social Inclusion Grant for up to $5,000. In order to qualify, your proposal must inspire productive and honest dialogues about race and other distinguishing characteristics that should be celebrated, not hated. The deadline has been extended to October 21, so don’t miss this excellent opportunity! Grant winners will be notified by mid-November. · If your English teacher required you to maintain a portfolio last year and you have any interest in keeping it, please pick it up from your previous teacher THIS WEEK. Any unclaimed portfolios will be recycled next week. Thanks!
· Comedy Sportz Match TONIGHT against El Segundo! It’s in the small theater at 7 pm!
· It’s time for our California Scholarship Federation membership drive. If you are a Sophomore, Junior or Senior who had excellent grades in June, you may be eligible. The membership drive ends TODAY. Applications can be found in Room 243. If you don’t know what CSF is, then come to lab Room 243 in the science building at snack or lunch during the two-week membership drive to get more information. Sorry, freshmen will not be eligible until they have received their first semester high school grades.

SPORTS
· Join the Mira Costa Girls’ Volleyball team Wednesday, Oct. 12 as they take on Mater Dei at Mira Costa. FS/JV/V at 4:30/5:30/6:30. It’s their “Dig Pink!” event, where the girls will join forces with volleyball teams across the country to raise money to help find a cure for breast cancer. All proceeds will go to the Side-Out Foundation. We will have raffle tickets, silent auction items and other ways to make donations. Wear something pink and come out to cheer the girls on! Think Pink!
CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS
· Come to Reflections on Mondays in Room 207! We publish your photography and poetry! Looks great on college apps!
· Mental Health Awareness Club: Come to Room 21 Tuesdays to learn about mental health and, more importantly, how to spread awareness about these struggles.
· Come by the Library during lunch TODAY for the first Geeks Club meeting of the year! Come see the 3D printers and more.
· Come to Me to We Club every Tuesday, Room 201, to prove you are a good person.
· Come to Pink Ribbon Club on Thursdays in Room 78.
· Come to the second Mustangs4Change meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 248 to learn about how you can help refugees in Chad.
· Come to Lend a Hand Club on Fridays (TODAY) in Room 72 at lunch and find out when we’re taking our next trip to Skid Row to hand out sandwiches!

· CCC Updates
The CCC is now open from 8am until 7pm. We hope you’ll take advantage of the extra hours and our extended services!
College Application Workshop Wednesdays from 2:00-7:00pm. Walk in and work on your college applications and personal statements with support from a CCC counselor. Bring a device or reserve one in the CCC.
· SCROC is now enrolling for its 9-week courses. Classes begin Monday, Nov. 14. Sign up in the Career Center to speak with a SCROC advisor and pick up an application.
