· Attention Mustangs: Come out and support your Homecoming Court as they compete in the Mustang Mall! Games start this Friday 10/7!
· Homecoming Dance Tickets are on sale now at the Student Store. Ticket prices go up Tuesday, Oct. 11. Prices: with ASB Marker – single $17, couple, $30; without ASB Marker – single $19, couple $34. Bring ID card to buy tickets.
· If your English teacher required you to maintain a portfolio last year and you have any interest in keeping it, please pick it up from your previous teacher THIS WEEK. Any unclaimed portfolios will be recycled next week. Thanks!
· Comedy Sportz Match this Friday against El Segundo! It’s in the small theater at 7 pm!
· Hey Mustangs! The Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk is coming up, and we need your help! Make sure to go to skechersfriendshipwalk.com to register and join the MCHS walk team, or come to Room 115 TODAY to sign up!
· It’s time for our California Scholarship Federation membership drive. If you are a Sophomore, Junior or Senior who had excellent grades in June, you may be eligible. The membership drive continues through Oct. 7. Applications can be found in Room 243. If you don’t know what CSF is, then come to lab Room 243 in the science building at snack or lunch during the two-week membership drive to get more information. Sorry, freshmen will not be eligible until they have received their first semester high school grades.

SPORTS
· Join the Mira Costa Girls’ Volleyball team Wednesday, Oct. 12 as they take on Mater Dei at Mira Costa. FS/JV/V at 4:30/5:30/6:30. It’s their “Dig Pink!” event, where the girls will join forces with volleyball teams across the country to raise money to help find a cure for breast cancer. All proceeds will go to the Side-Out Foundation. We will have raffle tickets, silent auction items and other ways to make donations. Wear something pink and come out to cheer the girls on! Think Pink!

· Come by the Library during lunch on Friday for the first Geeks Club meeting of the year! Come see the 3D printers and more.
· Come to Me to We Club every Tuesday, Room 201, to prove you are a good person.
· Do you want to help children in need around the world? Then come to UNICEF Club TODAY in Room 19 at lunch!
· Come to Pink Ribbon Club on Thursdays (TODAY) in Room 78.
· Black Scholars Union meets every Thursday (TODAY) in Room 74 at lunch. We have several new initiatives for this year that we would love for you to be a part of. All new members are welcome!
· Come to the second Mustangs4Change meeting this Friday at lunch in Room 248 to learn about how you can help refugees in Chad.
· Come to American Sign Language (ASL) Club this TODAY in Room 232 in the Math & Science building.
· Come to Lend a Hand Club on Fridays in Room 72 at lunch and find out when we’re taking our next trip to Skid Row to hand out sandwiches!
· Wanna learn how to code and create awesome games with friends? Come check out Python Gaming and Coding Club! Our first informational meeting is Monday, Oct. 10 during lunch in Room 52.
· Headstrong Club meets every Tuesday at lunch in Room 21! Come help us raise awareness for Mental Health, get involved in creating Costa’s stress plan, and meet supportive and amazing people!

CCC Updates
*The CCC is now open from 8am until 7pm. We hope you’ll take advantage of the extra hours and our extended services!
*College Application Workshop Wednesdays from 2:00-7:00pm. Walk in and work on your college applications and personal statements with support from a CCC counselor. Bring a device or reserve one in the CCC.
