· Are you a sports nut? Love box scores, season records, and outstanding athletic achievements? The Mira Costa History Project is looking for students to help research and write an in-depth sports history of Mira Costa. Interested? See Mr. Currier at snack or lunch in Room 222 or e-mail him.
· Come out and support the Mira Costa Dance Company as they present “Something in the Way They Move,” June 9 at 7 pm in the small theater. Ticket prices: $5 Monday & Tuesday, $7 Wednesday & Thursday, $10 at the door. Hope to see you there!
· Have pencils or binders you’re ready to throw away at the end of the year? Donate them instead! Operation Ready for School is conducting its last project of the year: a school supplies drive! Partnered with Develop Africa, we will be sending new and gently used supplies collected in Rooms 352 (Spo), 201 (Timberlake), 47 (Chow) and 207 (Vaughan) to schools in Sierra Leone and Cameroon. Check the flyers around school for suggested items to donate as the school year comes to a close – anything helps!
· Dread your summer reading assignments? Get it over with and sign up for the Summer Reading Class that will guide you through your summer selection easy-breezy: July 12 through 28, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4 to 6:30 pm. All grades welcome.
· As the end of the year approaches, please remember to return all library and textbooks as soon as you are done with them. We recommend returning textbooks as soon as each final is completed. All books become overdue at the end of the last day of school. Seniors will not receive their diplomas and transcripts if they have outstanding items, and returning students will not be able to register in the fall. Thanks for your support in getting books ready for next year’s students.
· If you will be a sophomore or junior next year and would be interested in becoming part of the Mira Costa History Project, a group formed to write the history of Mira Costa, please see Mr. Currier at snack or lunch in Room 222. There are lots of jobs to be done. Go Mustangs!
· If you own and operate a drone, please see Mr. Currier at snack or lunch in Room 222.
