STUDENT INFO           

·         There will be a Sophomore Block (World History & Literature) meeting during BOTH office hours this Wednesday, 3/23, in Room 207.

·         One week left! Enter your artwork into the 16th Annual All Media Art Show. All students and all types of art are welcome. The show will be held at the Manhattan Beach Art Center and prizes will be awarded in six categories. See your art teacher or go to Room 62 for more information and entry form. Artwork must be submitted by March 28.

·         Student Print Job Requests: You may pick up your printed job in Room 42 before school, at snack or lunch only and NOT during class times or passing periods.

·         Summer School Sign ups are right around the corner. If you want to hone your skills and get help with the summer selections, sign up for Summer Reading: A study of the selected literature. The class is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 – 10:30 am, and an additional class is being offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 – 6:30 pm.

·         There will be a quick meeting discussing next year’s Astrophysics class during PM office hours on Wednesday, 3/23, in Room 248. Any junior or senior interested should attend to hear Mr. Bartlett talk the talk.

SENIORS

·         If you are interested in speaking or performing at graduation or senior recognition, pick up an application in the main office or Room 15. Apps are due 3/31 to Ms. Owen.

CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS

·         Come to Cultures Unite Club in Room 52 every Monday (TODAY) to learn about different countries that Costa students represent.

·         Me to We Club: Come every Tuesday to Room 76 for service hours and support education in Kenya!

·         Do you like anime? Or do you want to learn more/get involved in the anime community? If so, go to Anime Club in Room 205 on Mondays!

  • Visits U.S. Army Scholarship Opportunities on Mar. 23 at 12:26 pm; De Paul University on Mar. 29 at 12:20 pm; Macquerie University (Australia) on April 18 at 12:20 pm; Kansas State University on Apr. 29 at 12:20 pm. Please sign up on Naviance.
  • SoCalRoc is now enrolling for its nine-week courses. Classes begin Apr. 11. Sign up now to speak with a SCROC advisor and pick up an application in the CCC.

TESTING/WORKSHOPS

·         Applerouth is offering an SAT prep class at MCHS that will lead directly into the June 4 official SAT date.  You will receive a 12-hour, structured review of major SAT concepts and strategies. Test guides & session notes are provided to help simplify the studying process. Additionally, after each mock test, you will receive a detailed results analysis to help you chart your own unique course towards mastering the test.

·         PJ Test Prep is offering a free SAT or ACT practice test on April 2 from 10:00 am – 2:05 pm. Location is the Holiday Inn Express Hermosa Beach; please RSVP at www.pjtestprep.com/rsvp. Students and/or parents return later that afternoon (5:45 – 6:45 pm) to get the results, learn free test strategy tips and find out all about the ACT and new SAT! ·         Revolution Prep is offering a student/parent presentation, “An Insider’s Guide to College Prep,” on Mar. 23 in the CCC from 9:30 – 10:20 am. Please sign up on Naviance for the presentation.

SENIORS  

·         El Camino bound students – After you take your assessment test, your next step towards priority registration is to meet with an ECC Counselor. During the month of March there will be an ECC Counselor available in the CCC to meet with you on Thursdays from 12:20 – 2:40 pm. Sign up for your appointment in the CCC now.
