STUDENT INFO           

  • The Annual Library Book Request Survey is now online at bit.ly/MCHSBookSurvey. Responses to the survey will directly influence what books the Library orders for next year, so please hurry and respond so the books can arrive as soon as possible. The survey takes roughly three minutes to complete. Thank you in advance, and Happy New Year from the Library Club!
  • The final deadline for senior ads is this Friday, 12/11! No ads will be accepted after this date, so make sure to turn yours in ASAP!!
  • Don’t forget: Mira Costa’s fifth annual Poetry Out Loud competition is going down in the small theatre TONIGHT at 7 pm. While the judges tabulate, there will be a community open mic – any audience member can come onstage and share a poem! We hope you can make it out for this epic night of poetry. Admission is FREE!

CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS

  • BSU meeting TODAY, Thursday, Dec. 10 in Room 80. All students are welcomed.
  • People say money can’t buy happiness, but I’d rather cry in a mansion! Come to Investor’s Club every Tuesday in Mr. Geczi’s Room 225.
  • There are over 7,000 homeless families in Los Angeles in need of footwear. HH Club is having a shoe drive. There are two boxes in the Learning Center labeled “Soles for Souls.” Please stop in and drop off some gently used or new shoes!
  • Mira Costa High School Dance Club is having a Bake Sale at Manhattan Beach Pier, in front of Chase Bank this Saturday, Dec. 12. Come out and support us.
  • Come to our Mustangs4change meeting this Friday at lunch in Room 248 to learn about how you can help refugees.
  • Come to Pink Ribbon Club every Thursday (TODAY) in Room 78 to discuss upcoming holiday events!
  • Come to Investor’s Club every Tuesday in Room 250.
  • S-Club is holding a toy drive for the 1736 Family Crisis Center and PATH Shelter in downtown L.A.! Please drop off NEW toys in the drop boxes located in the band, choir, orchestra and art rooms, Mr. Spo’s Room 352 and the front office.
  • Make it a December to remember! Lunches with Love’s last delivery of the year is Sunday, Dec. 13. We feed the homeless on Skid Row with your bagged lunches. For more information, go to our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/luncheswithlovemb.

 

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

  • SoCal Roc is beginning spring enrollment. Spring Class Schedules are available in the CCC. Sign up in the CCC to meet with the SoCal Roc Counselor.
  • SENIORS – College application deadlines are approaching! Come to the CCC for one on one help with a CCC Counselor – walk in or make an appointment. Drop off your personal statements in the CCC to have a college counselor review it. Be sure to include the prompt and your email address.
  • CCC Career Speakers – FOR ALL GRADE LEVELS  *Please sign up on Naviance or in the CCC*

  • Test Prep Information
    • C2’s Winter Break Practice Tests – Dec. 12 – Jan. 3, 2016. New SAT, New PSAT, ACT, Current SAT and AP Tests are available. Registration: https://www.c2educate.com/winter-break-practice-test/.
    • PJ TEST PREP is offering free practice SAT, New SAT and ACT tests on Jan. 2 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the LAX Holiday Inn Express.
