STUDENT INFO
- Take the MCHS Library December 3D printing challenge: Make a Holiday Season Cookie Cutter! Get easy directions to customize a cookie cutter at bit.ly/holidaycookiecutters. Once you design it, we’ll print it on the library 3D printers.
- The Annual Library Book Request Survey is now online at bit.ly/MCHSBookSurvey. Responses to the survey will directly influence what books the Library orders for next year, so please hurry and respond so the books can arrive as soon as possible. The survey takes roughly three minutes to complete. Thank you in advance, and Happy New Year from the Library Club!
- The final deadline for senior ads is this Friday, 12/11! No ads will be accepted after this date, so make sure to turn yours in ASAP!!
- Don’t forget: Mira Costa’s fifth annual Poetry Out Loud competition is going down in the small theatre this Thursday at 7 pm. While the judges tabulate, there will be a community open mic – any audience member can come onstage and share a poem! We hope you can make it out for this epic night of poetry. Admission is FREE!
- Hour of Code: Take an hour during TODAY’s office hours to learn about coding. Come to the library, STEM lab or computer science room during either morning or afternoon office hours for directions to spend an hour completing a fun, easy coding tutorial. This may be supported for extra credit by your math or science teachers. Check with them.
- Discover South Africa – Spring Break 2017. Informational meeting for new sign ups TODAY in Room 232 at lunch, or email [email protected] for details if you cannot attend the meeting.
SPORTS
- Boys Volleyball Tryouts will be TODAY, Dec. 9 in Fisher Gym from 4 – 6 pm for all levels.
- Swim team info session at the Pool, TODAY during AM office hours. All interested swimmers must attend.
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
- Mira Costa High School Dance Club is having a Bake Sale at Manhattan Beach Pier, in front of Chase Bank this Saturday, Dec. 12. Come out and support us.
- Come to our Mustangs4change meeting this Friday at lunch in Room 248 to learn about how you can help refugees.
- Join in the spirit of the season and come at lunch to Room 62 TODAY to make cards for charity. Easy, fun, and there will be music and food! Everyone is encouraged to come!
- Come to Pink Ribbon Club every Thursday in Room 78 to discuss upcoming holiday events!
- Come to Investor’s Club every Tuesday in Room 250.
- S-Club is holding a toy drive for the 1736 Family Crisis Center and PATH Shelter in downtown L.A.! Please drop off NEW toys in the drop boxes located in the band, choir, orchestra and art rooms, Mr. Spo’s Room 352 and the front office.
- Come to Drama Club every Wednesday (TODAY) in Room 1 at lunch for a swell time.

- SoCal Roc is beginning spring enrollment. Spring Class Schedules are available in the CCC. Sign up in the CCC to meet with the SoCal Roc Counselor.
- SENIORS – College application deadlines are approaching! Come to the CCC for one on one help with a CCC Counselor – walk in or make an appointment. Drop off your personal statements in the CCC to have a college counselor review it. Be sure to include the prompt and your email address.
