STUDENT INFO           

  • Come visit the library’s “Books We Are Thankful for” wall and add a book that YOU are thankful you read.
  • The library now has phone charger cords for in-library or one-day checkout. Ask at the desk to borrow one.
  • If you traveled to Germany, Prague and Switzerland last year (2015), we are having a reunion lunch on 11/19 in Room 15.
  • Come discover South Africa during Spring Break 2017. Space is limited for this incredible trip. See Mr. Cox in Room 410 or email [email protected] for details on how to sign up.
  • The PTSA Reflections Art Contest deadline is rapidly approaching. TODAY, Friday, Nov. 13, is the last day to submit any art entry to Ms. Gardner in the Admin Bldg. Contest rules and forms are in the Admin Office or are available from your VAPA teacher.
  • Poetry Out Loud Apps are due by 3 pm in Room 44 TODAY. Don’t miss out on this contest – it’s gonna be sweet!
  • Interested in traveling to Spain over Spring Break, 2017? Come find out more TODAY at lunch in Room 70!
  • Interested in going to London for Spring Break for 10 days? See Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Hampton Court, the bloody tower of London, Stonehenge and Windsor Castle. See major shows such as Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, the London Philharmonic at the Royal Albert Hall, possibly a Premier league football match and more! CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS  

  • The Geeks Club meets in the library lunchroom during lunch TODAY. New members and guests are welcome. Come by to see our 3D printing in action. Also come by if you need any help with tech problems.
  • Need community service? The next delivery for Lunches with Love is this Sunday, Nov. 15. We feed the homeless on Skid Row with your bagged lunches. For more information, go to our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/luncheswithlovemb.
  • Drama Club. You. Thursday. Room 1. Good times. Be there.
  • Come to ASL (American Sign Language) Club TODAY in Room 232 Math/Science Building.
  • Beach Volleyball Tournament! Sunday 11/15 – Fundraiser is $5 per person, 4 people per team. Themed dress up encouraged! Contact Ceca, Amelie or Rio at (310) 977-9664 to sign up! All proceeds go to nonprofit organizations. Hope to see you there!
  • Please support BSU and go to Menchies any time from Nov. 6 to Nov. 23. Go get some frozen yogurt, but don’t forget to mention BSU.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

  • SENIORS – College application deadlines are approaching! Come to the CCC for one on one help with a CCC Counselor – walk in or make an appointment. Drop off your personal statements in the CCC to have a college counselor review it. Be sure to include the prompt and your email address.
  • Attention SENIORS interested in aerospace engineering—there will be an informational meeting regarding the Northrop Grumman HIP (High School Involvement Program) on Tuesday, Nov. 17 during lunch in the CCC. This opportunity is for seniors only, and you must be available Monday through Thursday from 1 – 3 pm during spring semester 2016. Snacks will be served!

    • Princeton Review New SAT Practice Exam at Mira Costa on Dec. 5, 9:00 am – 1:30 pm. Please register at http://www.princetonreview.com/product/offerings/275923
    • PJ TEST PREP is offering free practice SAT, New SAT and ACT tests on December 5th from 10:00am – 2:00 pm at the Hermosa Beach Holiday Inn Express.
