· Homecoming News
o This is Homecoming Week! Make sure to dress up for ‘merica Monday, Tie-Dye Tuesday, Class War Wednesday, Team Thursday and Super Stampede Friday. Come to the Mustang Mall at lunch to see your court compete all week long!
o The Homecoming Dance is this coming Saturday, Oct. 24! Hope to see you all there! Dress in attire from the decade of your choice.
o Tickets for the Homecoming Dance are on sale now. The last day to buy tickets is this Friday at 3:15 pm. Tickets will be sold in the Student Store TODAY during snack, lunch and from 6th period until 3:15 pm.
Ticket Prices this week: $11 for singles with ASB marker; $13 without ASB marker.
$20 for couples with ASB markers; $24 for couples without.
$10/person for groups of 4 or more with ASB; $12/person for groups without.
· Do you have any yearbook-worthy Instagram photos from football games, homecoming, or any other school-related activity? If so, just tag #thisiscosta2016 and you might just become #instafamous (in the yearbook).
· At the Homecoming Football game TONIGHT, make sure to scan QU codes at the ticket booths to take part in a survey for the yearbook about the cars the couples ride in.
· Come to a lunch meeting on Tuesday, 10/27 to snag one of the few remaining spots for the Spring Break trip to Austria, Germany & Switzerland.
· Coming this Nov. 4: Preview TedX Manhattan Beach at Costa! It’s time to be inspired!
· Attention 10th & 12th graders: If you had Westerberg last year as a freshman or junior and you have not retrieved your Portfolio from his classroom, you have until Friday 10/23 to do so. After that, all remaining Portfolios will be recycled.
· It's time for the PTSA Reflections Art Contest. This year's theme is Let Your Imagination Fly. Students are to create an original piece of work based on the theme in one of these categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. National winners earn cash prizes and recognition. New this year, we will also award winners in each category at Mira Costa. Participation rules and required entry forms are available in the Admin Office or from your Visual and Performing Arts teacher. Remember, you can enter as many categories with as many pieces as you like. Please submit your projects to Admin Office (Ms. Gardner or Ms. Hoffman) no later than Friday, Nov. 13. · Italy 2016! There are a few spots left to travel to Venice, Florence and Rome during Spring Break 2016. Come by Ms. Choi’s Room 223 for more information.

· The Geeks Club meets during lunch TODAY in the library work room. We have important work to plan the Maker Fair. Everyone is invited to participate in our Oct. 29 Maker Fair from 3 pm – 5 pm in the library.
· Mustangs4Change meeting TODAY in Room 248 at lunch. Come support I-Act and the refugees in Eastern Chad.
· Come to Young at Heart Club in Mrs. Gesualdi’s Room 331 TODAY to help senior citizens with technology. Earn community service hours!
· Do you love to dance? Have you ever wanted to teach kids to dance? If you do, come to Unity Dance Club in Ms. Choi’s Room 223 on Mondays!
· Come to ASL (Americna Sign Language) Club this Friday in Room 232.
· Sign up for the Manhattan Beach Skechers Friendship Circle Walk on 10/25! Register under the Mira Costa Mustangs’ team and donate the money to MBEF to benefit Mira Costa’s Friendship Circle Club! Sign up at skechersfriendshipwalk.com.
· Attention all students: Club forms were due Oct. 19, 2015. No new clubs will be formed until next school year. The next club council meeting is Tuesday, Nov. 17.

If you registered to take the PSAT on Wednesday, Oct. 28, your room assignment is NOW posted in the window next to the main office.
· TEST DAY INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Report to your assigned room NO LATER than 7:45 am. Students who arrive after the test has begun will not be allowed to take the test.
2. Be sure to bring: two #2 pencils, student ID, calculator (any four-function scientific or graphing calculator) and your social security number (if you have one).

Become acquainted with the new SAT and check out the ACT exam as well with this comprehensive combination practice test. Space is limited; sign up at the MB Library Information Desk. o For Juniors taking the PSAT in October, Kaplan Test Prep will be hosting free online PSAT Cram Sessions to help students prepare for the upcoming New PSAT.
