Homecoming Week – Tie-Dye Tuesday

  • Homecoming News
    • The Homecoming Dance is this coming Saturday, Oct. 24! Hope to see you all there! Dress in attire from the decade of your choice.
    • This is Homecoming Week! Make sure to dress up for ‘merica Monday, Tie-Dye Tuesday, Class War Wednesday, Team Thursday and Super Stampede Friday. Come to the Mustang Mall at lunch to see your court compete all week long!
  • Come check out the new art show, “Shady People,” featuring portraits drawn by Art I students: Oct. 19-23 in the Art Gallery (Rm. 60) @ lunch.
  • The Geeks Club is hosting a “Maker Fair” in the library on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 3 pm – 5 pm. Mark your calendar now! Have fun personalizing and printing a fun Halloween object on our 3D printer, creating a Halloween photo, experiencing Google Cardboard, making pinwheels to support students in Syria, and more. And, to get in the mood, come by the library now to see some of your favorite teachers turned zombies, vampires and monsters.
  • New update for Ms. Park’s tour over Spring Break: We will be traveling to Greece ONLY with a new lowered price! Spots are still available. Please come to a meeting Wednesday in Room 48 at lunch.

 

CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS  

  • K-Pop and K-Drama Club will meet this Thursday in Room 74 at lunch! We will discuss Korean pop culture. Everyone is welcome.
  • The Library Club meets in the library lunchroom during lunch TODAY. New members are welcome.
  • Come to Cuipo Club in Room 207 (Ms. Vaughan’s Room) Wednesday!
  • Come to Jewish Cultural Club in Room 200 at lunch TODAY. All people are welcome. Learn about the Jewish religion and culture.
  • Come to Richstone Club in Room 207 at lunch on Thursday and learn how you can make a change in the community.
  • Come to Pink Ribbon Club every Thursday in Room 76 to make care packages for cancer patients! New members welcome!
  • Sign up for the Manhattan Beach Skechers Friendship Circle Walk on 10/25! Register under the Mira Costa Mustangs’ team and donate the money to MBEF to benefit Mira Costa’s Friendship Circle Club! Sign up at skechersfriendshipwalk.com.

  • College Speaker – Rob Franek, Princeton Review’s Senior Vice President and Publisher and main author of the “Best 380 Colleges,” will be speaking at Redondo Union HS on Oct. 21 at 6 pm in the RUHS Auditorium.
  • SoCalRoc is Now Enrolling – Nine-week courses starting November 9. Natalie Hansen, SoCalRoc counselor will be in the CCC on Mondays 9:00 am – 10:20 am. Sign up in the CCC or just drop in.
  • Test Information
    • New SAT & ACT Combination Practice Exam – at Manhattan Beach Library, 1320 Highland Ave., Manhattan Beach.  Saturday, Nov. 7, 11:00 am – 2:45 pm. Become acquainted with the new SAT and check out the ACT exam as well with this comprehensive combination practice test. Space is limited; sign up at the MB Library Information Desk. Score reveal and strategies session: Monday, Nov. 16 at 6:30 pm.
    • For Juniors taking the PSAT in October, Kaplan Test Prep will be hosting free online PSAT Cram Sessions to help students prepare for the upcoming New PSAT.
