STUDENT INFO           

  • JUNIORS & SENIORS: Remember to vote for Homecoming Court at lunch and after school TODAY in Room 40. Freshmen run-off elections will take place at the same time.
  • Spain/Portugal 2016 meeting at lunch on Tuesday 10/6 in Room 70!
  • Last day to turn in CSF paperwork is TODAY, Oct. 2. Come to Room 243 for applications and information.
  • If you have a unique pet and are interested in being in the yearbook, please contact us at [email protected] by TODAY.
  • Only a few spots remain to travel to Austria, Germany & Switzerland during spring break 2016. Talk to Ms. Owen in Room 15.

CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS  

  • The Geeks Club meets in the Library during lunch TODAY. New members and guests are welcome. Come see our 3D printer in action and get help with tech.
  • ATTENTION ROC NATION OFFICERS! Meet TODAY at lunch in Mr. Knutson’s Room 201 for a MANDATORY club officer pre-meeting planning.
  • Do you like to dance? Have you ever wanted to teach kids? Then come to Unity Dance Club in Ms. Choi’s Room 223 TODAY where you’ll have the opportunity to teach deserving elementary school students how to dance! All grades welcome!
  • Come stop by the art gallery (Room 60) at lunch starting TODAY and through next week for a show featuring work produced by Mira Costa’s Visual Arts faculty; there is a variety of photography, painting, sculpture, fiber art and more. Hope to see you there.
  • If you are interested in a challenging national marine science competition, we have the club for you! Come to National Ocean Sciences Bowl Club every Thursday at lunch in Mr. Smith’s Room 342 in the Math and Science Building.
  • Come to American Sign Language (ASL) Club TODAY in Room 232 in the Math and Science Building.
  • Want to earn service hours by helping older adults learn to use technology? Come to the Young at Heart TODAY in Room 331.
  • Fashion Club meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 131. Come support us at the Hometown Fair Oct. 3 at 1 pm in our showcase. Members can come in TODAY at lunch to finish your pieces.
  • Saving lives, preparing our communities for disasters and helping families in need is what we do. Come to Red Cross Club in Room 352B TODAY during lunch.

  • University of Washington Regional Event to be held at the Mira Costa Auditorium on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 6:30 pm – 8:30pm. This is a special event for prospective Huskies and their families.   • SoCalRoc Classes – Natalie Hansen, SoCalRoc counselor, will be in the CCC on Mondays (TODAY) 9 am – 10:20am. Sign up in the CCC or just drop in.
  • Free Testing

C2 Test Prep is offering free New PSAT, New SAT, SAT or ACT practice exams on Oct. 10 at UCLA Haines Hall – check in starts at 8:30 am, testing starts at 10:00 am. Highest scores win $1,000 toward college. Parents are invited to attend workshops while students are testing. This event is free; you will have to pay for parking. Space is limited.

  • For Juniors taking the PSAT in October, Kaplan Test Prep will be hosting free online PSAT Cram Sessions to help students prepare for the upcoming New PSAT.
