STUDENT INFO           

  • England, Ireland, Scotland trip meeting – Tues., Sept. 22 at lunch in Room 410. New sign-ups welcome. We have a few spots left!! Email [email protected] for details.
  • Hey, Mustangs! This Friday, Sept. 18, is a MINIMUM DAY, and it happens to be the day of Pennekamp’s annual Dragon Jamboree! They would LOVE to have Costa students help set up! Great way to get community service hours! Just e-mail their principal, Dr. Toni Brown ([email protected]).
  • Attention students and staff! Make-up picture day is Monday, Sept. 21. If you need a picture for your ID or need to retake your picture, meet at the Auditorium lobby between 7:30 am to 2:30 pm.
  • No need to cook for Back to School Night; order from CPK! Manhattan Beach CPK Fundraiser all day TODAY! Proceeds benefit Mira Costa Cheer. Please take a picture of the flyer and show it when ordering or paying. Or just mention Costa Cheer!
  • Come by the Art Gallery in Room 60 and try a loaf of Breadth. Feed your eye-balls rad art for lunch. Open all week, every day at lunch, and during back-to-school night.

CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS  

  • Saving lives, preparing communities for disasters, and helping families in need is what we do. Come to Red Cross Club in Room 352B at lunch on Fridays.
  • Lend a Hand Club’s meeting this Friday is canceled due to the minimum day schedule. Club will resume normally next Friday 9/25.
  • Emergency Fashion Club meeting in Room 131 at lunch TODAY! Anyone interested in modeling? Come to the Fashion Club meeting TODAY as well.
  • Don’t forget to come to Room 206 TODAY during lunch for the Richstone Club meeting and learn how you can volunteer at the Richstone Family Center.
  • Key Club meets every Thursday (TODAY) in Room 70. There are many events coming up – earn service hours, make friends, and support your community.
  • The Geeks Club is holding a training session after school TODAY from 3 pm – 5 pm in the library lunchroom on using our 3D printers. Everyone is welcome.
  • Come to Chess Club Thursdays (TODAY) at lunch in Room 14! Everyone is welcome.
  • Attention all freshmen interested in running for freshman class officers, please come to an information meeting in Room 40 at lunch on TODAY, 9/17 or Friday, 9/18.
  • Attention all those interested in joining Mira Costa’s Tri-M chapter: First meeting of the year for new members (juniors) and returning members is TODAY in Room 2, Choir Room.
  • There will be no Pink Ribbon Club today at lunch in Room 78. Club will resume next week, Thursday at lunch in Room 78. If you need lots of service hours, this is the club for you. New members welcome. There will be donuts.
  • Sick of planet Earth? Come to Astronomy Club TODAY in Room 248. Everyone is welcome.
  • The Gay-Straight Alliance meets every Thursday (TODAY) in Room 23. Everyone is welcome.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

  • **IMPORTANT: IF YOU REGISTERED FOR THE PSAT ON TUESDAY, SEPT. 15, PLEASE CHECK THAT YOUR NAME IS ON THE LIST POSTED IN THE STUDENT STORE WINDOW. If you are not listed, please notify Donna Cessor in the ASB Accounting Office next to the Student Store.
  • PSAT REGISTRATION (Testing 10th and 11th Grades only) will be available at the Student Store on Sept. 15 – 17 during LUNCH ONLY; Sept. 18 during SNACK ONLY. Cost: $25; please make checks out to MCHS.

Late Registration will be available at the Student Store on Sept. 21 – 22 during LUNCH ONLY. Cost $35. The test date is Oct. 28.

 

  • Seniors – Letters of Recommendation Workshop in the CCC TODAY, Sept. 17 during lunch. Sign up on Naviance.

  • Save the date! Mira Costa’s College Knowledge Night will be on Sept. 21 from 7 to 9 pm in the Auditorium. All students and parents are invited to attend!
  • SoCalRoc – Fall classes are still available. Sign up in the CCC to meet with the SoCalRoc counselor, Natalie Hansen.
  • University of Washington Regional Event to be held at the Mira Costa Auditorium on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 6:30 pm – 8:30pm. This is a special event for prospective Huskies and their families.
