STUDENT INFO

- Any students who have an “excused 1st, 5th or 6th period” or surf team on their schedules need to come to the Guidance Office to get an Off-Grounds sticker placed on their student ID cards. Off-Grounds stickers will be issued before school, at snack, at lunch, or after school ONLY. Please do not come during class time. If you are stopped by the police without the Off-Grounds sticker on your ID card, you may be subject to a truancy citation.

SPORTS
- Girls’ Lacrosse Tryouts – Weds., Thurs. (TODAY) & Fri. (9/9-9/11), 3:00-4:30 pm. Meet at the bleachers. Bring running shoes, cleats, stick and goggles. You must have a mouth guard. No experience necessary.
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
- Attention Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, & Seniors: If you have an interest in protecting the environment, please come to Spo’s Room 352B. We meet Mondays at lunch.
- Saving lives, preparing communities for disasters, and helping out families in need is what we do. Come join us at Red Cross Club, Fridays at lunch in Room 352B (Science Bldg.).
- Come to Chess Club Thursdays at lunch in Room 14! Everyone is welcome.
- Come to Pink Ribbon Club TODAY. We make care packages for breast cancer patients at Torrance Memorial Hospital. If you are looking for volunteer opportunities, this is the club for you! New members welcome!
- The Gay-Straight Alliance meets every Thursday (TODAY) in Room 23. Everyone, not just gays and straights, are welcome.
- Interested in making your own clothing or styling what you have? Join Fashion club. Meetings are every Friday at lunch in Room 133.
- Come on down to Richstone Club TODAY in Room 206 (in the History building) at lunch. And learn about how you can volunteer at Richstone Family Center.
- If you have any interest in the world of business, Finance, and economics, come to Investor’s Club every Thursday (TODAY!) in Mr. Geczi’s Room 225. We welcome new members and no prior experience is necessary.

- Seniors – Letters of Recommendation Workshops in the CCC TODAY Sept. 10 and Sept. 17 during lunch. Sign up on Naviance.
- SoCalRoc – Fall classes are still available. Sign up in the CCC to meet with the SoCalRoc counselor, Natalie Hansen.
- Save the date! Mira Costa’s College Knowledge Night will be on Sept. 21 from 7 to 9 pm in the Auditorium. All students and parents are invited to attend!

- PSAT REGISTRATION will be available at the Student Store on Sept. 15 – 17 during LUNCH ONLY; Sept. 18 during SNACK ONLY. Cost: $25; please make checks out to MCHS. The test date is Oct. 28.

Juniors taking the PSAT in October, Kaplan Test Prep will be hosting free online PSAT Cram Sessions to help students prepare for the upcoming New PSAT.
