STUDENT INFO
- Attention current freshmen: AP European History mandatory meeting will take place on Thursday, June 4 at lunch in Ms. Choi's room 223. All students enrolled in AP Euro next school year are required to attend.
- Meeting on Tuesday, June 9 at 5:30 pm for students and parents interested in going to Istanbul and Athens, Spring 2016. You must sign up by June 12 online. Email Ms. Park for details!
- As the end of the year approaches, please remember that all library books and textbooks are due by June 18 and should be returned promptly as soon as you are done using them. It is extremely important that we get books back on time so that we can accurately determine whether we have adequate numbers for future students. Thank you very much for your support.
- While our physical library is closed during the summer, students can check out and read ebooks all year. Ask at the library for help accessing ebooks.

- Attention all former Pennekamp Dragons!!! Mrs. Horowitz is retiring at the end of this year, and we want to give all Dragons, past and present, a chance to say farewell. Join us at PENNEKAMP TODAY, any time after 1:30 pm to share your favorite memory and wish Mrs. Horowitz all the best as she moves on from teaching. We will be gathering on the patio behind her classroom, Room 21, and cards will be available to sign. Come say goodbye to a PK Legend!!
- Big fat ART SHOW in Room 60! Check out what the AP Art kids have been working on all year! Open at lunch June 2 through June 10 and 4-6 pm on Friday, June 5.
- Thank you so much to everyone who participated in or donated money to the Mira Costa Relay for Life on Saturday. The event was a huge success and we raised over $57,000 for the American Cancer Society.
- Biotechnology is coming to Costa!!! Freshmen, the deadline to submit the Biotechnology Course Application has been extended to Friday, June 5!! Swing by room 350 to pick up an application ASAP. Students who complete this three-year pathway will graduate Mira Costa High School with experience and materials that rival that of a college graduate with a science major. They will enter undergraduate labs well equipped to perform virtually any technical application and/or they will be competitive applicants for paid internships and jobs in biotechnology.
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
· Come to Cultures Unite’s Panda Express Fundraiser. On Thursday, June 4, go to Panda Express on Sepulveda from 3 – 8 pm. You must present a flyer at checkout. For a flyer, go to Room 52 or visit @culturesunite on Instagram.
· Science Olympiad has an important meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 350. Elections will be taking place!
· NHS Seniors: Mrs. Cabrera has posted a list of requirements for graduation cords – please take care of any missing items ASAP – there will be a final meeting Friday at lunch.
· The Library Club will be meeting via Google Hangouts on Air with book clubs from around the country to discuss The Martian by Andy Weir after school TODAY at 3 pm. Everyone is welcome. We will have snacks.
SPORTS
· Boys Basketball tryouts will be from TODAY, June 3 in the Main Gym. All players who would like to be considered for the summer rosters are invited. If you will be a senior in 2015-16, please email Coach Amaral directly for more information: [email protected].
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
El Camino College bound students – There will be an ECC Counselor available in the CCC to help you with your Ed Plan and Class Registration on Thursdays from 12:20 – 2:00 pm. Please sign up for your appointment in the CCC.
SoCalRoc – Meet with the SoCal Roc Representative in the CCC on Mondays from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. Sign up in the CCC for an appointment or drop in during snack on Mondays.
