- Tickets for the “Fly Me to the Moon” Prom will be on sale in front of Room 40 and at the student store until Monday, June 1!
- Ireland, Scotland, & England Trip – Spring Break 2016. Deadline to receive $300 discount is Monday 6/1! Email [email protected] or see Mr. Cox for details.
- Yearbook is no longer accepting pre-orders. You may purchase a book on the day of your class distribution. CASH ONLY – $100. June 5 – Seniors; June 8 – Seniors & Juniors; June 9 – Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores; June 10 – all grades.
- Sign up for the summer reading class on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 8-10:30 am starting July 14. Class will help you get through the summer reading & assignments. This course will also improve reading, writing & motivation.
- We’re looking for aspiring writers, photographers, journalists and video editors. Join the nationally award-winning Mustang Morning News staff and make a difference in the world and your college apps.
- Student-produced documentaries about Cambodia and Cuba will be screened TONIGHT at 7 pm in the new Multipurpose Room. Admission is FREE. Student filmmakers will have a Q&A after the screening.
- Attention current freshmen! AP European History mandatory meeting will take place on Thursday, Jun 4 at lunch in Ms. Choi’s Room 223. All students enrolled in AP Euro next school year are required to attend.
- JAPAN 2016 meeting on Monday, 6/1 at lunch in Room 72. Arigato!
- This Saturday 5/30 is Relay for Life! The Opening Ceremony starts at 10 am and the event takes place at Waller Stadium at Mira Costa (not MBMS). Hope to see you there!
- Come support and celebrate chamber music in the South Bay this weekend! Community Chamber Music will be hosting two concerts at 3:30 and 6:30 pm on Sunday, May 31, at the Manhattan Beach Community Church. Students will be performing works by Bach, Mozart, Bernstein, Debussy, Saint Saens and more! Admission is free, but donations are welcome. All proceeds will go to benefit charity.
- Biotechnology is coming to Costa!!! Freshmen, the deadline to submit the Biotechnology Course Application has been extended to Friday, June 5!! Swing by room 350 to pick up an application ASAP. Students who complete this three-year pathway will graduate Mira Costa High School with experience and materials that rival that of a college graduate with a science major. They will enter undergraduate labs well equipped to perform virtually any technical application and/or they will be competitive applicants for paid internships and jobs in biotechnology.
- Spring Break Italy 2016! Meeting TODAY at lunch in Ms. Choi’s Room 223 for students who are interested in traveling to Venice, Florence and Rome and students already enrolled.
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
· The Gay-Straight Alliance will be meeting TODAY.
· Comedy Sportz match TONIGHT at 7 pm in Room 1 (Drama Room)! $5 at the door. Be there or be square.
· Want to get more involved in school? Join PACE, a leadership class that focuses on issues students may encounter in their high school years. For an application, go to Room 234 for more details.
SENIORS

SPORTS
· Boys Basketball tryouts will be from 3:30-5:30 on June 1 and June 3 in the Main Gym. All players who would like to be considered for the summer rosters are invited. If you will be a senior in 2015-16, please email Coach Amaral directly for more information: [email protected].
· The Mira Costa hockey team is playing in the semifinal game at 6:30 pm on Monday, June 1. With a win, the team will advance to the championship game on Tuesday, June 2 at 7:30 pm. All games are at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo and entrance is FREE! Come out and support Mira Costa hockey.
· The Mira Costa hockey team lost 3-2 against El Segundo Wednesday night. Kai Borich and Christian Rodgers scored the goals for Mira Costa.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

El Camino College bound students – There will be an ECC Counselor available in the CCC to help you with your Ed Plan and Class Registration on Thursdays from 12:20 – 2:00 pm. Please sign up for your appointment in the CCC.
SoCalRoc – Meet with the SoCal Roc Representative in the CCC on Mondays from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. Sign up in the CCC for an appointment or drop in during snack on Mondays.
