- SCHOLAR QUIZ – Round 2! Lunch starts at 12:10 TODAY, so if you’re competing, please hustle over to your room ASAP when the bell rings. Brackets are posted on the website or on the chart by Room 42.
- Do you ever have problems getting through the summer reading? Need motivation? Need to improve reading & writing? Sign up for the Summer Reading course on Tuesdays & Thursdays 8-10:30 am starting July 14.
- Come support and celebrate chamber music in the South Bay this weekend! Community Chamber Music will be hosting two concerts at 3:30 and 6:30 pm on Sunday, May 31, at the Manhattan Beach Community Church. Students will be performing works by Bach, Mozart, Bernstein, Debussy, Saint Saens and more! Admission is free, but donations are welcome. All proceeds will go to benefit charity.
- Relay for Life chaperone meeting TODAY at the Costa Library at 6 pm. Please turn in all waivers and participant agreement forms either at the meeting or in Mr. Debevec’s Room 134 by Thursday! If you are unable to turn in all the forms, you can bring them day of or email them to Maggie Walsh: [email protected].
- Biotechnology is coming to Costa!!! Freshmen, swing by room 350 to pick up an application ASAP – deadline to submit is June 1st!! Students who complete this three-year pathway will graduate Mira Costa High School with experience and materials that rival that of a college graduate with a science major. They will enter undergraduate labs well equipped to perform virtually any technical application and/or they will be competitive applicants for paid internships and jobs in biotechnology.
- who are eager to expand their knowledge of science practices this Thursday at lunch in Rm 350 (Mrs. Bledsoe’s room). You can hear about this fascinating new class, pick up an application and learn about upcoming deadlines. Please note: This course is a highly selective, rigorous, 3-year commitment, with a maximum enrollment of 15 students per year, selected by a panel.
- Spring Break Italy 2016! Meeting for stdents who are interested in traveling to Venice, Florence and Rome and students already enrolled on Friday, May 29 at lunch in Ms. Choi’s Room 223.
- Mira Costa’s first ever intergenerational art show is on display now in Room 60! The gallery will be open at lunch only TODAY. Come by and see the artwork before it comes down tomorrow!
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
· The Gay-Straight Alliance will be meeting on FRIDAY this week.
· Richstone Club will be meeting TODAY, Wednesday, May 27. We will be holding club elections.
· If you’re interested in art of any kind, come to Room 62 on Tuesday at lunch for Art Club’s elections.
SENIORS
· Seniors! Come to the Auditorium Lobby TODAY from 9-10 am or at lunch to pick up your cap & gown and graduation tickets! Perfect time to meet fellow grads for breakfast & swing by the Auditorium before first period starts @ 10 am.
SPORTS
· Boys Basketball tryouts will be from 3:30-5:30 on June 1 and June 3 in the Main Gym. All players who would like to be considered for the summer rosters are invited. If you will be a senior in 2015-16, please email Coach Amaral directly for more information: [email protected].

Santa Monica College Counseling - There will be a counselor from SMC in the CCC TODAY, Wednesday, May 27 from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Sign up for your appointment in the CCC.
El Camino College bound students – There will be an ECC Counselor available in the CCC to help you with your Ed Plan and Class Registration on Thursdays from 12:20 – 2:00 pm. Please sign up for your appointment in the CCC.
SoCalRoc – Meet with the SoCal Roc Representative in the CCC on Mondays from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. Sign up in the CCC for an appointment or drop in during snack on Mondays.
