- Prom tickets on sale now! Prom is June 6 at the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley. The theme is “Fly Me to the Moon.” Single ticket with ASB sticker is $95, single without ASB sticker is $100; couple with ASB sticker is $185, couple without ASB sticker is $195. Tickets are on sale at the Student Store during lunch. Prices will go up next week, so get them now!
- TODAY at lunch in Room 134 there is an important meeting for all Relay for Life team captains and committee members. Also, after school TODAY there is a chaperone meeting.
- It’s your last chance to sign up for the annual Relay for Life fundraiser at costa on May 30. You can sign up online at relay.org. If you have any questions, you can email Lauren Irwin at [email protected].
- Austria, Germany, Switzerland student interest meeting on 5/27 (Wed.) at lunch in Room 15. Spots are filling up quickly.
- Mira Costa’s first ever intergenerational art show is on display now in Room 60! The gallery will be open at lunch and after school. Come by and see the artwork!
- Comedy Sportz Match this Friday, seniors vs. senior citizens improv! New Theatre, 7 pm. Cost $5. Enjoy the Generation Gap.
- Biotechnology is coming to Costa!!! There will be an information session for freshmen who are eager to expand their knowledge of science practices this Thursday at lunch in Rm 350 (Mrs. Bledsoe’s room). You can hear about this fascinating new class, pick up an application and learn about upcoming deadlines. Please note: This course is a highly selective, rigorous, 3-year commitment, with a maximum enrollment of 15 students per year, selected by a panel.
- The library will be closed due to Smarter Balanced testing from 7:50 am through the end of lunch every day from May 14 through TODAY, Thursday, May 21. Please plan ahead and come before school or after lunch each of these days.
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
· The Geeks Club meets in the Library lunch room during lunch TODAY. Come help work on getting our 3D printer up and running. Please come in quietly in case testing is still in progress.
- Come to the Seniors vs. Seniors Comedy Sportz match this Friday (5/22) at 7 pm in the new theatre to see Costa’s team play the senior citizens! $5 at the door.
- Want to get more involved in school? Join PACE, a leadership class that focuses on issues students may encounter in their high school years. For an application, go to Room 234 for more details.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
College Essay Workshop – Tuesday, June 2 during lunch in the CCC. Get a jump start on writing your college essay! Please RSVP on Naviance.
Santa Monica College Counseling - There will be a counselor from SMC in the CCC to help you with enrollment on Wednesday, May 27 from 9:00 – 11:00 am. Sign up for your appointment in the CCC.
El Camino College bound students – There will be an ECC Counselor available in the CCC to help you with your Ed Plan and Class Registration on Thursdays (TODAY) from 12:20 – 2:00 pm. Please sign up for your appointment in the CCC now.
SoCalRoc – Meet with the SoCal Roc Representative in the CCC on Mondays from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. Sign up in the CCC for an appointment or drop in during snack on Mondays.
