  • Interested in joining the Mira Costa Drumline? Come to our spring workshop series, Tuesdays (TODAY) from 4:30 to 6:30 pm in Room 64, or come by Room 4 for more information.
  • Italy 2016! Want to travel to Venice, Florence and Rome during Spring Break next year? See Ms. Choi in Room 223 for more details. Ciao!
  • The library will be closed due to Smarter Balanced testing from 7:50 am through the end of lunch every day from Thursday, May 14 through Thursday, May 21. Please plan ahead and come before school or after lunch each of these days.
  • Interested in traveling to Austria, Germany and Switzerland in 2016? See ms. Owen in Room 15 for details!
  • Attention all Relay for Life team captains: There will be a team captain meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 134; we look forward to seeing you there!
  • Mandatory final meeting for Catalina Odyssey tall ship sailing trip at lunch on Wednesday 5/13 in Mr. Smith’s Room 342. Bring your forms if you have not already turned them in.

  • Mira Costa Choirs is having a fundraiser/service project. Bring in your old shoes, any kind – boots, sneakers, heels, loafers – to the front office or the Choir Room 2. Help us help those who need shoes.

CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS                                                                                                                                                                                   

  • Art Club Room 62 Wednesday at lunch. All welcome.
  • Come to Together We Tutor TODAY in Room 19.
  • The Library Club meets in the library work room during lunch TODAY.
  • There will be a special meeting of the Geeks in the Library during lunch TODAY to unwrap our new 3D printers and make plans for installing them.
  • 1736 Club will be collecting used smart phones or cell phone chargers for the WIN cell phone app for youth in need. Please drop off donations in the box in the office. Ends May 21.
  • Attention to those doing makeup tryouts for Model UN: Please check the website for updates but makeup tryouts will be held at lunch and at 3:00 pm TODAY and possibly Wednesday, May 13 as well. Contact Dano Major or Maggie Hackney with questions.

SPORTS

  • Just a Reminder…Thursday, May 14 is the deadline to submit all Independent Study Athletic (ISA) applications!
  • The Mira Costa hockey team came back from a 0-4 deficit against Manhattan Beach to tie the game 5-5. Ryan Miller had three goals, Oliver Gable had two and Wyatt Light had one. Come out and watch the action Tuesday night at 7:45 pm as they take on Redondo Beach.

 

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

Out of State College Mini Fair – TODAY, 6:30 – 8:30 pm in the MCHS Cafeteria.  Come meet with admission representatives from 30 out- of-state colleges! Please RSVP on Naviance.

El Camino College bound students – There will be an ECC Counselor available in the CCC to help you with your Ed Plan and Class Registration on Thursdays from 12:20 – 2:00 pm. Please sign up for your counseling appointment in the CCC now.

SoCalRoc – Meet with the SoCal Roc Representative in the CCC on Mondays from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. Sign up in the CCC for an appointment or drop in during snack on Mondays.

SENIORS

-Senior Clearance Deadline is May 15thPlease bring copies of the following to the CCC:  1. Updated Naviance college admissions results.  2. Completed senior survey.  3. Acceptance letter from the school you will be attending.
