- Mandatory final meeting for Catalina Odyssey tall ship sailing trip at lunch on Wednesday 5/13 in Mr. Smith’s Room 342. Bring your forms if you have not already turned them in.

- Mira Costa Choirs is having a fundraiser/service project. Bring in your old shoes, any kind – boots, sneakers, heels, loafers – to the front office or the Choir Room 2. Help us help those who need shoes.
- ATTENTION NEXT YEAR’S JUNIORS & SENIORS: You may still sign up for student parking next year. Come to the Guidance Office starting 5/1 and see Ms. Gardner before/after school, during snack or lunch to sign up. Students are not allowed to sign up for their friends. If you currently have a parking pass, a new one is required every year to park in the lot. Spaces fill up quickly, so don’t delay.
- Last chance to sign up for the SAT Savvy Prep class. Class starts May 9. Come to Room 18 or go to SATsavvy.info for more information.
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
- Attention to those doing makeup tryouts for Model UN: Please check the website for updates but makeup tryouts will be held at lunch and at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, May 12 and possibly Wednesday, May 13 as well. Contact Dano Major or Maggie Hackney with questions.
- The Geeks meet in the library workroom during lunch TODAY. We have two people needing help.
- Want to get more involved in school? Join PACE, a leadership class that focuses on issues students may encounter in their high school years. For an application, go to Room 234 for more details.
SPORTS
- The Mira Costa hockey team continued its winning streak last Friday against PV and on Sunday against El Segundo. The team beat PV 3-2, with Christian Rogers, Bryce Tournat, and Austin Bowkus scoring the goals. On Sunday they beat el Segundo 6-5, with Ryan Ng and Jack St. Ivany scoring two goals each, while Oliver Gable and Christian Rogers scored one a piece. Come out TONIGHT, Friday, May 8 at 5:15 pm to watch them take on Beverly Hills.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
Students registered for May 9th Practice ACT – Please remember to bring your receipt, student ID, two #2 pencils and a calculator to the Cafeteria no later than 7:45 am on Saturday.
Out of State College Mini Fair – May 12th 6:30 – 8:30 pm in the MCHS Cafeteria. Come meet with admission representatives from 30 out- of-state colleges! Please RSVP on Naviance.
El Camino College bound students – There will be an ECC Counselor available in the CCC to help you with your Ed Plan and Class Registration on Thursdays from 12:20 – 2:00 pm. Please sign up for your counseling appointment in the CCC now.
SoCalRoc – Meet with the SoCal Roc Representative in the CCC on Mondays from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. Sign up in the CCC for an appointment or drop in during snack on Mondays.
SENIORS
-Senior Clearance Deadline is May 15th. Please bring copies of the following to the CCC: 1. Updated Naviance college admissions results. 2. Completed senior survey. 3. Acceptance letter from the school you will be attending.
-County of Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department Information Session – The Sheriff’s Department is recruiting for the position of Public Response Dispatcher. A representative will be in the CCC on Friday, May 8th (TODAY) at 1:00pm to cover hiring requirements, salary, and benefits. Please sign up on Naviance.
