STUDENT INFO
- LAST WEEK TO ENTER: Enter your artwork in the 15th Annual All Media Art Show. All students and mediums are welcome – drawing, painting, mixed media, ceramics, photography, fashion, etc. Prizes will be awarded at the reception. Enter your work before FRIDAY to Room 62.
The show will be held April 15 – 23 at the Manhattan Beach Creative Arts Center. A reception will be held on April 17 from 5-7 pm with live music/entertainment.
- Improve your SAT scores! Sign up for SAT Savvy Prep Session for the June 6th test. 18 hours of instruction plus four practice tests. And…it is here at MCHS with actual teachers. For more info – satsavvy.info or Room 18, 331 or CCC.

SPORTS
- The Mira Costa hockey team beat PV 10-2 on Friday night. We had great goaltending from Matthias Sholl, and goal scorers include Austin Bowkus with 3, Bryce Tournat with 3, Ryan Ng with 2, Jacob Gordon and Ryan Miller with a goal each. Come out Thursday April 2 at 6:20 pm to watch the action this Thursday as we take on Manhattan Beach. All games are at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo.
SENIORS
- If you ordered graduation announcements, please come to the Auditorium Lobby TODAY only during snack and lunch to pick them up!
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
- Richstone Club will be meeting Wednesday, Room 18.
- Relay for Life Club committees will meet TODAY at lunch in Room 134.
- Science Olympiad has a meeting on Wednesday, 4/1/15 at lunch in Room 350.
- Join the Mira Costa Classic Car Club on April 25 in the main parking lot from 11 to 2 pm for their 2nd annual
Festival of Motoring. Come see classic, historic and sports cars of all types. We will have food trucks and great music. If you have a car you wish to enter in our “Student Car Section” or know someone with an amazing car, please stop by Mr. Geczi’s Room 225 to pick up a flyer. We hope to see you at the car show!
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
- Scholarship Notebook Update – There is a NEW scholarship opportunity for you. The Shorewood Realtors Scholarship is available for students who have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and have community service experience. If this sounds like you, please come in to the CCC to sign up to be considered. We will hold sign-ups until April 3, 2015 in the CCC. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
- College visits in the CCC – Washington State University, April 1 at 12:20 pm., Northeastern University, April 13 at 11:25 am, U.S. Military Academy-Westpoint, April 15 at 9:00 am; UC Riverside, April 15 at 10:23 am. Sign up on Naviance.
- SoCalRoc – Fall class schedules are now available in the CCC. Enrollment begins April 13.
- El Camino bound students – There will be an ECC Counselor available in the CCC to help you with your Ed Plan and Class Registration on Thursdays from 12:20 – 2:00 pm. Sign-up for your appointment in the CCC now.
- Santa Monica bound students – SMC will have a counselor available in the CCC to help you with your class registration and questions on Wednesday, April 1 from 9:00 am – 12:20 pm. Sign up for your appointment in the CCC now.
- Testing Information

- Practice ACT at Mira Costa on May 9 – Session is full; a waitlist is now available in the CCC.
· Summer Program Update – El Camino is offering a free STEM and robotics program this summer. The STEM Training and Robotics Technology (START) program includes a robot building experience and covers STEM career pathways. No prior technical experience required to apply. The program runs July 6 to July 30, Monday through Friday (Friday field trips), 9 am to 1 pm. The application deadline is May 25.
