CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS                                                                                                                                                                                         

  • Come and help plan cultural diversity day in Room 78 TODAY. If you have an old pair of glasses, come donate them. They will be sent to less fortunate people in Vietnam.
  • Want to learn about the diverse cultures awe have here at Costa? Then come join the Cultures Unite Club on Mondays, TODAY, in Room 52!
  • The relay for life NHS Committee will be meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 134. You will be able to get one service hour.
  • Join the Mira Costa Classic Car Club on April 25 in the main parking lot from 11 to 2 pm for their 2nd annual
    Festival of Motoring. Come see classic, historic and sports cars of all types. We will have food trucks and great music. If you have a car you wish to enter in our “Student Car Section” or know someone with an amazing car, please stop by Mr. Geczi’s Room 225 to pick up a flyer. We hope to see you at the car show!

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

  • Scholarship Notebook Update – If you completed a scholarship notebook, there is a NEW scholarship opportunity for you. The Shorewood Realtors Scholarship is available for students who have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and have community service experience. To be eligible, sign up on or before April 3, 2015 in the CCC.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

  • El Camino bound students There will be an ECC Counselor available in the CCC to help you with your Ed Plan and Class Registration on Thursdays from 12:20 – 2:00 pm. Sign-up for your appointment in the CCC now.

 

  • Santa Monica bound students – SMC will have a counselor available in the CCC to help you with your class registration and questions on Wednesday, April 1 from 9:00 am – 12:20 pm. Sign up for your appointment in the CCC now.

 

  • Testing Information

-       Free New SAT (class of 2017), will be offered by The Princeton Review at Mira Costa High School on April 18th from 9am – 1:30pm.  Register online PrincetonReview.com/Events or call 800-273-8439.  Event ID #233313

 

-       Practice ACT at Mira Costa on May 9th.  Register in the CCC during lunchtime this week.  Registration is $10 during the week of March 23rd.  Late registration is $15 during the week of March 30th.  Cash only!  We will not be accepting checks. There are limited spots so first come, first serve!

·         Summer Program Update El Camino is offering a free STEM and robotics program this summer. The STEM Training and Robotics Technology (START) program includes a robot building experience and covers STEM career pathways. No prior technical experience required to apply. The program runs July 6 to July 30, Monday through Friday (Friday field trips), 9 am to 1 pm. The application deadline is May 25.
