- Wouldn’t it be cool to see one of your teachers get own on stage? Well here’s your opportunity. Dancing with the Teachers #TBT Edition in this Thursday at 7 pm in the Auditorium. It’s $3 with ASB and $5 without. For all faculty members, it’s free. See you there!
- The first ever Mira Costa National Ocean Science Bowl team competed in the Los Angeles Regional Surf Bowl on Saturday at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where they beat Peninsula by a score of 66-26 on their way to the 8th round and finishing in 5th place behind some very stiff competition. This is the farthest that any first-year team has made it, and we look forward to doing even better and building the program in the following years!
- All 9th grade physical fitness testing will take place the week of Mar. 9 – 13 (exception: ISA) during your sport or PE class.
- Ireland and Scotland 2016 – Come explore the Kingdom by the Sea. Informational meeting in Room 232 on Thursday during lunch or email [email protected] for details.
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
- Come to the Jewish Cultural club TODAY! All are welcome.
- Richstone club meets every Wednesday in Room 18.
- Did you know that roughly ¼ of natural medicines have been discovered in the rainforest? Stop by Cuipo Club every Wednesday, Room 18.
- The forests of Central Africa are home to more than 8,000 different species of plants. Come to Cuipo Club (Room 18) on Wednesdays to learn more.
- Find out how you can help homeless people on Skid Row and get community service hours too! Room 72, Mrs. Geczi’s room, every Friday at lunch.
- Attention Mustangs! Third Quarter Club Day will be held on Thursday, March 5, in the Mustang Mall.
SENIORS
- Applications to speak at graduation are now available. Pick one up in Room 15 or the office. Applications are due by 3/27/15.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
- Seniors – If you are participating in the Scholarship Notebook Program, please view available scholarships and specific instructions/deadlines on the MCHS website – College Tab – Scholarship notebook Information. Please sign up for specific scholarships in the CCC on March 2 – 6. If supplemental materials are required for the scholarships you choose, forms are available online or in the CCC – Please note deadlines.
- College visits in the CCC – SMC assessment test prep session, Mar. 4 at 1:00 pm; U.S. Military Academy (West Point), Mar. 12 at 12:20 pm; The Evergreen State College, March 19th at 10:23 am; Hollins University, March 24 at 9:00 am; DePaul University, March 30 at 12:20 pm; Washington State University, April 1 at 12:20 pm; Northeastern University; April 13 at 11:25 am. - El Camino bound students – After you take your assessment tests, your next step towards priority registration is to meet with an ECC Counselor. There will be an ECC Counselor available in the CCC to meet with you on Thursdays from 12:20 – 2:00 pm. Sign up for your appointment in the CCC now.
