STUDENT INFO
- Mid-Way Day registration is now open on the MCHS Website. Please go on & select your classes. Be sure to read sessions at a glance so you don’t miss some of the cool classes at the bottom of the list.
- Students in one-semester classes: Please return all your fall semester class textbooks to the library as soon as you complete your finals. Books become overdue once finals are complete and are needed for spring semester class students. You can also check out spring semester textbooks as soon as you return your fall books. Be sure to have your ID with you to check out books.
- Students who need books for one-semester spring classes: Please come to the library to get your books as soon as possible.
- AP Students: Registration for the Advanced Placement exams will take place January 26 through Jan. 30 during lunch only at the student store. The registration fee is $96 per exam. Late registration will be held Feb. 2 through Feb. 6 during lunch only at the student store, but an extra $15 late fee for each exam will be charged. Be sure to bring your completed blue worksheet indicating the exams you will be taking, cash or check made out to MCHS for the registration fee, and a pen to complete the actual registration form.
- Hermosa Valley School is looking for HVS alumni to be cabin leaders for the 6th Grade Outdoor Science School in Malibu. Outdoor School will take place from Mon. Mar. 9 to Fr. Mar. 13. It may be possible to earn community service credits. The applicant deadline is Friday, Jan. 30. Contact Mr. Hecker at [email protected].
- Sign up for the SAT Savvy now! The first session starts Feb. 7. Sign up by this Friday, Jan. 23, to receive a discount. For more info, go to SATSavvy.info or Room 18, 331 or the CCC.
SPORTS
- Boys Golf tryouts -- All students, including those currently enrolled in golf PE, who are interested in trying out for the 2015 Boys Golf Team, please report to Mr. Shaw's office during lunch TODAY, 1/21, to sign up.
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
- Join us on Wednesdays at lunch in Room 53 for great discussions and philosophical activities with Young Philosophers Society; Members: We will meet after school Wednesday for our weekly essay contest seminar.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
· Seniors – Deadline reminder: All mid-year report requests are due to your Guidance Counselor by Jan. 30.
· Seniors – if you are interested in submitting a Scholarship Notebook, please sign up for one of the MANDATORY meetings on Naviance. The remaining meeting will be held during lunch in the CCC on Jan. 27.
· Juniors, sophomores and freshmen – The U.S. Naval Academy will be holding an information session in the CCC during lunch on Jan. 26. Sign up on Naviance or in the CCC.
· New SCROC classes start Jan. 26. Sign up in the CCC to register for classes with the SCROC representative. Ms. Kelly is available on Mondays, periods 1–3 in the CCC.
