STUDENT INFO           

  • Attention Students and Staff: The Lip Sync has been rescheduled. Dress rehearsal will be Tuesday, Jan. 6 after school. The show will be Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 7:00 p.m.
  • SAT Savvy Intensive prep program – Improve your SAT scores with 18 hours of instruction and practice tests. For more info come to Room 18, 331, CCC or visit satsavvy.info.
  • Dodgeball tournament sign-ups are this Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, December 3rd – 5th. Dodgeball tournament starts following week, Dec. 8. Sign-ups are $10 per team and will be in the new quad at lunch.
  • Congratulations for Jonathan Sullivan, 12th grader, who won the library Games Week drawing. Jonathan wins a gift certificate.
  • Costa Rica 2015 meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 72. Pura Vida!
  • Interested in going to Switzerland? See Ms. Owen in Room 15 for more info.
  • The last day to sign up for this year’s spring break trip to Eastern Europe is Dec. 15. If you are interested, please see Ms. Owen in Room 15.
  • Attention poetry lovers: Mira costa will be holding its fourth annual Poetry Out Loud competition Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015! Poetry Out Loud is a national poetry recitation contest in which students memorize and recite two famous poems from the Poetry Out Loud online anthology. Check out the poem anthology by visiting poetryoutloud.org. The winner of the competition will go on to compete at the county level in February. If you are interested in competing, see your English teacher or Ms. Sieker for more information and an application. Applications are due to Ms. Sieker in Room 44 by Friday, Dec. 19.
  • This is just a friendly reminder that detentions will now be served in Room 80. If you need to serve a detention – Room 80 is where you need to be!

FACULTY

  • Dear Teachers & Staff: The Operation Happiness forms were placed in your mailboxes. Please return them to Mrs. Claypoole by Friday, Dec. 5, at 3:00 pm. Thank you and we hope to spread lots of holiday cheer.
  • Please excuse all boys soccer players at 1:10 for away games. They’ve been told how important it is to keep up with their work!

 

SENIORS

  • Attention seniors interested in a future in Engineering. Come to an informational meeting Thursday, Dec. 4 in the CCC at lunch to find out about a spring semester internship at Northrop Grumman.

SPORTS

  • Boys Tennis Tryouts for all new players will be held Tuesday, Dec. 2; Thursday, Dec. 4; and Friday, Dec. 5 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Mira Costa tennis courts. Players must attend all three days. If you have a conflict, please contact Coach Ciasulli directly at [email protected].
  • Boys Tennis Tryouts for all returning players will be held Thursday, Dec.4 and Friday, Dec. 5 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Mira Costa tennis courts. Tryouts are mandatory and players must attend both days. If you have a conflict, please contact Coach Ciasulli directly at [email protected].

CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS  

  • Attention Students: Club Council for December is next Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014 at lunch in Room 40. All clubs should send one representative.
  • Improv Club Tuesdays (TODAY) at lunch in Room 1, the Drama Room.
  • Come to Lend a Hand Club in Room 72 at lunch every Friday to help support the homeless people living in Los Angeles! As the weather is getting colder, we are asking for warm clothes like jackets, blankets, or jeans. If you have anything to donate, drop it off in Room 72!
  • Relay for Life Club and committee meets TODAY in Room 234!
  • Investors Club meets TODAY in Room 225.
  • The Library club meets in the library lunch room during lunch TODAY. Tomorrow at 3 pm, the Library Club is participating in a “Somewhat Virtual Book club” discussion of Butter, by Erin Jade Lange, in the library lunch room. Everyone is welcome.
