- This is a reminder that the PTSA Reflections Art Contest submissions are due no later than Monday, Nov. 17. Please turn in submissions to the Admin Office and give to Ms. Gardner or Mrs. Hoffman. Extra entry forms and instructions are available in the Admin Office.
- From the Library: Congratulations to Chloe Carrier for winning the Library Halloween Story Contest. Chloe was selected from a drawing of all participants, and wins a gift certificate. Come by the library to see the completed stories.
- Last chance to sign up for Lip Sync! November 5th, 6th and 7th at the dance team table located in the New Quad. Don’t miss your chance to win!
- Mandatory Meeting for Spain Trip 2015 this Wednesday, tomorrow, at lunch in Room 70! Gracias!
- Attention Students! Signups for the blood drive on Nov. 20 will be taking place this week. Please sign up with an ASB member, in ASB, or with Ms. Claypoole.
- Student Print Job Request:
- Print Job Requests: If you are requesting a print job, please email document in PDF format and send file as an attachment to [email protected]. Please put your name in the subject line. You may pick up your printed job in Room 42 before school, at snack, or lunch only and not during class times. Printing is 10 cents per side. The only print jobs that will be accepted will be those that are received via email.
- Tickets for Thornton Wilder’s “The Matchmaker” performed by the Mira Costa Drama Department will be on sale this week in the quad at lunch, so bring money! Performance dates are as follows: Nov. 7, 8, 14 & 15 at 7:30 pm; Nov. 12 at 4 pm and Nov. 15 at 2 pm. Pre-sale tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, with a $5 price for students on the 12th. See you there!
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
- Come to Room 1 for Drama Club and a good old time! See y’all there.
- The Library Club meets during lunch today in the library lunchroom. The club is also meeting at 3 PM tomorrow (Wednesday) for our “Somewhat Virtual Book Club” online discussion of We Were Liars. Everyone is welcome.
- Come to Together We Tutor in Room 19 TODAY and every Tuesday to change hawthorne kids’ lives one math problem at a time.
- Investors’ Club meets TODAY in room 225.
- Cupo club and Richstone Club meet today in Room 18 at lunch.
- Come to the Jewish Cultural Club today in Room 207. We have an amazing guest speaker from Stand With Us and pizza.
- Come one, come all! Gay-Straight Alliance (and everyone in between!) meets Thursdays, Mr. Zeoli’s room, Rm. 23. Everyone is welcome!
- Reflections meets every Monday in Ms. Vaughan’s room, Room 18. We are collecting submissions for the literary magazine at the end of the year! Email your poems, artwork, pictures, and short stories to [email protected].
- MCHS Breast Cancer Awareness hats are available for $20. Come by Room 233 (Ms. Collicutt’s room). Checks made out to MBX.
- Come to Wounded Warrior Club on Mondays (TODAY) in Room 14 to learn about ways to empower and support wounded veterans.
- Did you know? Badminton is the fastest sport in the world. The fastest badminton smash was recorded at 332 km/h (206 mph). Join the Badminton Club every Monday @ lunch in Rm. 234.
