STUDENT INFO           

  • There will be a big Halloween costume contest TODAY at nutrition in the new quad! The contest is at nutrition so that the prizes can be rewarded at lunch!
  • Tickets for Thornton Wilder’s “The Matchmaker” performed by the Mira Costa Drama Department will be on sale next week in the quad at lunch, so bring money! Performance dates are as follows: Nov. 7, 8, 14 & 15 at 7:30 pm; Nov. 12 at 4 pm and Nov. 15 at 2 pm. Pre-sale tickets are $13 for adults and $11 for students and seniors, with a $5 price for students on the 12th. See you there!
  • Get ready for Halloween: Come see the library scary books and contribute a sentence to one of our scary stories. Everyone who contributes will have a chance to win a coffee gift certificate. Be sure to participate by Friday, Oct. 31. Staff members are also welcome to participate!
  • NOON-TIME THEATRE this Thursday in the Drama Room, Room 1! Stop by to see some spooky skits and silly scenes at lunch!

SENIORS

  • Deadline for Regular Decision College Applications with Dec. 1 – Jan. 15 deadlines are due Friday, Oct. 31, 2014.
  • All senior ads are due by December 5, 2014, so get yours now before it’s too late!

SPORTS

  • Congratulations to Girls Varsity Golf (Marni Murez, Veronica Chen, Danielle Richman, Ashley Kim, Lexi Nielson, Phoebe Gunn) for placing 2nd – runner up in CIF Central Division. They will be advancing to the next round next week.
  • There will be a tryout for all levels of Boys Volleyball TODAY, October 31 from 3-5 pm in Fisher Gym.

CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS  

  • Looking for a good way to decorate for the fall season? Don’t be left out – come check out the Art Club’s selection of hand painted pumpkins, perfect for your porch or classroom, TODAY in the gallery (Rm. 60) at lunch and after school until 4 pm.
  • MCHS Breast Cancer Awareness hats are available for $20. Come by Room 233 (Ms. Collicutt’s room). Checks made out to MBX.
  • Grades of Green volunteer presenters will meet for training on Monday, Nov. 3, at lunchtime in Room 352. If you signed up, show up!
  • Come to Wounded Warrior Club on Mondays in Room 14 to learn about ways to empower and support wounded veterans.
  • Did you know? Badminton is the fastest sport in the world. The fastest badminton smash was recorded at 332 km/h (206 mph). Join the Badminton Club every Monday @ lunch in Rm. 234.
  • What do you call a cat that has just joined the Red Cross Club? A first aid kit! Join the American Red Cross Club at lunch on Fridays in Room 352. New members always welcome!
  • Game Club is watching The Shining TODAY, Friday right after school in Rm. 40. All are welcome. There will be candy.
  • Participate in Halloween fun at Shakespeare Club in Room 18 on Friday at lunch this week. The Tempest begins next week!
  • Art Club painted pumpkins will be on sale and display TODAY in the gallery.
  • Kleats 4 Kids meeting TODAY in Room 77.
  • Knock Knock. Who’s there? Why, it’s you, knockin’ on the door of Room 1 every Tuesday at lunch for Improv Club! I promise we’ll tell better jokes…
  • Do you want pizza? We do too! Bring us pizza every Monday in Ms. Vaughan’s room, Room 18. You can submit your art, stories, and poetry to [email protected].
  • To help the homeless get back on their feet, come to Project Origin every Wednesday at lunch in Room 22.
