• Reminder! Please pick up your pre-ordered spirit wear today/this week during lunch period at The Student Store.
• The next In-N-Out Honor Roll Recognition Event will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014 and all eligible students must bring their current Mira Costa I.D.s to the school auditorium to participate. This event is for students who earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher at Mira Costa last semester. The In-N-Out burgers will be served during the regular lunch period, and grilled cheese sandwiches will also be available. In addition, a complimentary lunch will be served to all teachers and staff members, beginning at 12:00 noon.
SPORTS
• Girls Lacrosse tryouts are TODAY, Friday, Oct. 17 from 3:00-5:00 pm. Meet at the stadium at 3 pm. Bring lacrosse stick, cleats, running shoes, goggles and you MUST have a mouth-guard. No experience necessary. Email Coach Cross if you can’t make it: [email protected].

• Shakespeare Club meets today in Room 18. New members welcome!
• Cupo Club and Richstone Club every Wednesday Room 18. Stop by for lots of community service.
• Environmental Science Club – do you care about the environment? Do you like science and want to make a difference? Come to Environmental Science club this Friday at lunch, Mr. Smith’s Room!
• Kleats 4 Kids club Fridays in Room 77.
• Did you know? Badminton is the fastest sport in the world. The fastest badminton smash was recorded at 332 km/h (206 mph). Join the Badminton Club every Monday @ lunch in Rm. 234.
• Come to Lend a Hand Club in Room 72 on Fridays! It’s the first official meeting and new members are always welcome!
• Come to the Creative Writing Club on Friday in Mrs. Vaughan’s room, Room 18, to write &have fun!
• Are you interested in physics? The first meeting of physics club will be Friday 10/17 in Rm. 237 (Lewis). Last week’s meeting was cancelled due to the pep rally.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• PSAT is this Saturday, Oct. 18. Check your room assignment posted outside of the Guidance Office today. Make sure you bring your Student ID or Photo ID on test day – you won’t be permitted to take the test without it.

• Vistamar School, 737 Hawaii St., El Segundo is hosting a College Fair on Sunday, Oct. 19 from
2 to 5 pm. All students are welcome!
• College Application Support “Walk-In Wednesdays” begin Oct. 22 in Room 241 during lunch. No sign-up is necessary; just come in during lunch any Wednesday through Nov. 13.
