• ATTENTION JUNIORS & SENIORS: If you have a parking permit, you may NOT park in any numbered or lettered spaces. These are reserved for staff. Students in violation will be pulled from class to move their car.
• Any students who have an “excused 1st, 5th or 6th period” or surf team on their schedule need to come to the Guidance Office to get an “Off-Grounds sticker” placed on their student ID card. Off-Grounds stickers will be issued before school, at snack, at lunch, or after school only. Please do not come during class time. If you are stopped by the police without the Off-Grounds sticker on your ID card, you may be subject to a truancy citation.
• South Africa Trip – Spring Break 2015. Important meeting for those who plan to attend. Wednesday 9/10@ Lunch in Ms. Baral’s Rm. 232. Email [email protected] if you cannot attend.
• Italy 2015! Interested in visiting the Roman Coliseum, riding the gondolas, or eating some gelato? If so, come to the Italy Spring Break 2015 informational meeting on Wednesday, September 10 in Ms. Choi’s Rm. 223 at lunch.
• If you are signed up for the Eastern Europe trip, come to our first meeting on Friday 9/12 @ Lunch. If you are interested in traveling with us, please see Ms. Owen in Rm.15.

CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
• Hey Mustangs, Don’t forget about the after football game Rave Dance! Come in your rave gear and have a good time! See you there.
• The First Club Council Meeting of the year is TODAY at lunch. All old club presidents and anyone who wanting to start a new club need to be present.
• Attention all freshmen interested in running for ASB need to pick up an election packet from Mrs. Claypoole and turn it in by Thursday, September 11th by 3pm.
• Come to Mira Costa Interact Club TODAY for pizza, community service and scholarship opportunities.
• The most humanely rewarding club is beginning TODAY at lunch in Rm. 114 (the bottom floor of the two story social science & art brick building). Bring something to eat every Tuesday and Thursday and enjoy a lunch with our fantastic special needs students. It is the surest way to make a difference in another person’s life, and your own at the same time.
• The Library Club meets during lunch in the library lunch room. New members are welcome; we’ll have some fun book give-aways for everyone.
• Come to Fashion Club this Wednesday in Rm. 131 at lunch. If you have a passion for fashion this is the club for you! Don’t miss out.
• Richstone Club Wednesday in Rm. 18
• Trees are cool! Don’t kill them; join Cuipo, every Wednesday in Ms. Vaughan’s Rm.18. Just by joining you can save a square kilometer of rainforest!
• NHS members: There will be an informational meeting about Board positions on Thursday, September 11th in Rm. 53.
• New NHS members can pick up their acceptance letter in Rm. 53.
• Attention band, orchestra and choir juniors and seniors, there will be an information meeting for Tri-M Honors music society TODAY in the band room at lunch.

• Congrats to Varsity Girls’ Golf for winning their first two matches against North Torrance with scores of 198 to 228 and 203 to 236. A special shout out to Marni Murez who led the group shooting Par.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• Upcoming College Visits – Grand Canyon U., Tulane U., Concordia U., U of Alabama, Brandeis U., U. of South Carolina. Sign Up on Naviance. Seniors – Please use letters of recommendation forms on MCHS website – click on CCC. Scroll to *New Letters of Recommendation Instructions. There will be a Letters of Rec. Workshop on Sept. 11th during lunch in the CCC – Sign up in the CCC.
