• Step outside the box come hear some ideas worth spreading at the annual TED X MB event this Saturday, November 16th, at MBMS from 9am to 3pm.Tickets on sale now!
• Come to the library to see the Dia de los Muertos display.
• Attention Poetry lovers: Mira Costa will be holding its third annual Poetry Out Loud competition Friday, January 17th, 2014! Poetry Out Loud is a national poetry recitation contest in which students memorize and recite two famous poems from the Poetry Out Loud online anthology. Check out the poem anthology by visiting poetryoutloud.org the winner of the competition will go on to compete at the country level in February. If you are interested in competing, see your English teacher or ms. Sieker for more information and an application. Applications are due to Ms. Sieker in Rm. 34 by Friday, December 20th.
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
• Donate any well-worn shoes to Nike Reuse-A-Shoe Drive to be made into track & field equipment. Donations to Mr. Calderon’s Rm. 346.
• Submit any creative works such as poetry, short stories, artwork or photography to [email protected] to be published in Costa’s literary magazine.
• Support the Roundhouse Aquarium! Grab a flyer from around campus and go to CPK any time TODAY!
• Want to catch the eye of that special someone? Come to Active and Able every Monday in Rm. 38 to get a hot bod the healthy way.
• Want to join the fight against cancer? Come to Relay for Life Club outside of Rm. 134 on Tuesday!
• Come to GALS Club on Wednesday outside of Rm. 343 to encourage girls to pursue STEM careers!
SENIORS
• Secondary school reports and requests for letters of recommendation to your Guidance Counselor for Regular Decision and Rolling Admission Applications with deadlines after Dec. 31st are due Friday, November 15th.
• SENIORS, it’s time to do the Honors!! Jostens will be taking Cap & Gown & Graduation Announcement orders TODAY, 7:30 am – 2:30 pm outside the Career Center. TONIGHT, Nov. 12th 6:30pm – 8pm in the Career Center.
• First deadline for Senior Ads is coming up! Turn them in by FRIDAY, 11/15 for 15% off. Forms are available in Rm. 9 or the office.
