• Students – The PSAT will be given on campus on Saturday, Oct. 19. Lists are posted outside the administration office and outside the CCC with your room assignment. Check the list – See Ms. Branim in the CCC with any questions.
• Come travel with us to Spain over Ski Week in 2015! Lunch meeting Thursday in Rm. 37 for more info!
• Pick up your sweatshirts TODAY during lunch at the student store.
• Seniors & Juniors order your Mira Costa class rings from Jostens Thurs. & Fri., Oct. 17th, 18th during snack and lunch in the New Quad. Bring a $50.00 Deposit.
• In-N-Out Honor roll Recognition Event will be held TODAY. All eligible students must bring their current Mira Costa I.D.s to the school auditorium to participate. This event is for students who earned a G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher at Mira Costa last semester. The In-N-Out burgers will be served during the regular lunch period, and grilled cheese sandwiches will also be available. In addition, a complimentary lunch will be served all teachers and staff members, beginning at 12:00 noon.
• The Bella Foundation will be putting on a Halloween Costume give-away & Party. Please donate gently used costumes and costume elements for 5 – 10 year olds. There is a collection box set up in the office. All items must be collected by October 18th.
• Come celebrate Teen Read Week at our library this week. Check out and vote for the Teens’ Top Ten Nominees. Get more information at the library or on the library blog.
• Attention all MCHS Staff & Students! Every nine minutes, a baby dies from tetanus. UNICEF donation boxes have been put in every classroom and office – Please help out!! We just cured smallpox; let’s work on tetanus!
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
• Come to Dance Club TODAY and every other Tuesday in Rm. 37.
• Together We Tutor meets TODAY in Rm. 19. It’s a great opportunity to give back and help students at Eucalyptus Elementary school in Hawthorne!
• Community Service Rocks! Come to Key Club this week. Meeting in Rm. 232 on Thursday at lunch.
• Come to the Library Club TODAY in the Library workroom.
• Come to Friendship Circle TODAY and Thursdays to meet new people and make new friends!
• Come to the Ronald McDonald House Club, Thursday at lunch, in Mr. Chow’s room!
• Come visit Science Olympiad Wednesdays in Rm. 350.
• Do you watch Blogbrothers, SciShow, Mental Floss, or Crash Course on You Tube? Have you read Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, An Abundance of Katherines, or The Fault in Our Stars, by John Green? If so, join others like you at Green Brothers Association in Rm. 205 at lunch on Wednesdays & Thursdays.
