STUDENT INFO
• On Thursday, June 13th at 7pm, Mira Costa Dance class will be performing their last show of the year “Curtain Call” blow out tickets will be available Monday and Tuesday for $5.00 on Wednesday tickets will be $7.00, and at the door $10.00 so buy your tickets now.
• Reminder to all underclassmen enrolled in AP or Honors courses: if your second semester grades do not meet the prereq for your honors or AP courses, you must fill out a waiver form immediately and turn it in to Mr. Mancilla. If we don’t have your waiver, you will be dropped from the course.
• There will be a mandatory meeting for all students who signed up for the trip to Cusco, Peru in 2014. Please come to Room 36 or see Ms. Rossell at lunch on June 12th for further information.
• If you did not attend the AP ART HISTORY meeting at lunch, you MUST see Ms. Park in room 120 before the school year is out to receive info about SUMMER ASSIGNMENTS. Thank you.
• Mandatory meeting for all students planning on taking AP European History next year in Room 205 Thursday at lunch.
• If you are interested in joining the award winning Mira Costa Choirs, see Mr. Hayden in Room RG16. Join a Mira Costa Choir next year!
• Be sure to enroll before the end of the school year in order to secure a spot in Ms. Sieker’s Go with the Flow yoga, meditation, and creative writing summer workshop! The workshop will run the week of July 8-12 from 1:15 – 4:25pm. This class is open to both current Costa students and alumni. No yoga experience is necessary! Online enrollment is available: www.psmanhattan.org. Click on “Camp VIP”. See Ms. Sieker in Room 34 for more details. NAMASTE!
• There are still spots left for the Galapagos 2014 Spring Break trip! Come to Mr. Chow’s Room 3 for more info and a lunch meeting on Thursday, 6/13.
• Come to the LAST Comedy Sportz match of the year! Comedy Sportz Alumni Match Friday, June 14th at 7:00pm in the Drama Room 1. $5 at the door.
• ALL LIBRARY BOOKS ARE DUE BY JUNE 18th AND ALL TEXT BOOKS BY JUNE 20th! Please return all of your textbooks as soon as you finish your finals in each course. It is extremely important that we get books back on time so that we can accurately determine whether we have adequate numbers for future students. To encourage prompt returns, a $5 per book fine will be assessed for each textbook returned after June 21. Thank you for your support in returning in items promptly.
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
• Latino Scholars Union meets TODAY in Room 72. All members welcome!
• Come to Room 75 at lunch TODAY for GALS Club’s last meeting of the year!
SENIORS
• If you still owe money or need to purchase a Cap and Gown, contact Josten’s at 805-987-4147.
• Senior Valedictorians – If you would like the case that your Valedictorian Medal came in, please pick it up before the end of this week from Mrs. Lee-Iwai. Thank you!
• Seniors, as much as you love to visit your old teacher friends at MBMS, please honor their school days and refrain from visiting during school hours. Thank you.
SPORTS
• There will be a mandatory players/parents meeting for the Fall MCHS Hockey Team tomorrow, June 13th at 7pm in the school library. The coaches will be in attendance, along with reps from the Anaheim Ducks. Registration for spots on the team will be taking place.
• Another Costa hockey CHAMPIONSHIP WIN! – The varsity team scored the game winning goal with less than a minute left in the game. Members of the champ team include: Kory Medieros, Doc Gentaler, Jake Vitta, Cole Peterson, Ryan Miller, Cooper Strahan, Dylan Strahan, Austin Bowkus, Wyatt Light, Jacob Helfgott, Ben Zucker, Ryan Ng, Kara Drexler, Dylan Fair, and Evan Bohan. Coaches were T. Oystrick and B. Mark.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• Seniors: Please come pick up your scholarship notebooks in the CCC. We will have a list posted outside the CCC of all seniors receiving a scholarship. Award recipients will be receiving an invitation to the scholarship awards night on Monday, June 17th via mail.
FACULTY
