• Keep the channels between the brain and the fingertips open this summer! Take Creative Writing and let your neurotransmitters happily leap in the direction of the page.
• Mustang Trainers: Please come to Room 120 at lunch TODAY to sign a commitment form for the 2013 Freshman Orientation. Anyone who still wants to join us can come as well and pick up an informational flyer. See Ms. Own in Room 15 or Ms. Park in Room 120.
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
• Do you want 48 hours of community service? Come to Room 45 TODAY and every Tuesday to join the fight against cancer with Relay for Life!
• NHS would like to thank everyone for your help raising money in our penny wars drive. In total, we raised over $640! The NHS bake sale raised an additional $275, se we will be donating over $900 to Sandy Hook victims. Thanks especially to our top scoring homerooms – first place: Ms. Sieker, second place: Ms. Donovan, and third place: Ms. Martinez-Sellan. These three homerooms will get a donut party courtesy of NHS!
• Come to Cards for a Cause Club Wednesdays in Room 66! Get community service hours by making cards for neglected hospital patients, soldiers, and elders. All new members welcome!
• Come to Together We Tutor TODAY and every Tuesday in Room 19! You can tutor 5th graders in Hawthorne and get community service hours. All new members welcome!
• Latino Scholars Union meets on Wednesdays in Room 72. All new members welcome!
• Please join us at Friendship Circle TODAY at lunch in Room 114.

SENIORS
• Seniors! Please submit your photos for the 2013 Senior Slide Show! Photos are accepted on CB, USB Drive, or by sending them to [email protected].
• Seniors: On Tuesday, May 21st, you will report to the tennis courts at 9:30am for the Annual Dodgeball Tourney or you can see a movie in the auditorium. On Wednesday, May 22nd, you will report to the Meadows gate at 8:30am if you are going to Magic Mountain or the auditorium at 9:30 for a movie.
SPORTS
• Come support the Mira Costa boys volleyball team Wednesday, May 15th as we take on the Huntington Oilers in the CIF Semis! Talk to Riley Mallon or Grant Chalmers to secure a spot on the student bus! It’s going to be one of the best games of the year!
• Costa’s JV hockey team beat El Segundo 10-1. Kai Borich and Oliver Gable both had 3 goals each, while Robert Davis, Carlos Sanchez and Ryan Wendel had the others. The JV team also beat La Canada 7-1. Kai Borich and Ryan Fowlkes had 2 goals each with Oliver Gable, Adam Bedford, and Carlos Sanchez scoring the rest. The next game is against South Torrance on Friday at 5:15pm at the Toyota Sports Center.
• Costa’s Varsity hockey team takes on West LA Wednesday at 7:45pm.
