• Important Reminder – All students need to turn in your schedules for next year. Please be sure to check all Prerequisites for each class. If you have questions, see your counselor ASAP.
• AP Students: The final 3 AP Exam pre-identification sessions are scheduled as follows:
o Monday, April 22, 7:00pm Small Gym
o Tuesday, April 23, 7:30pm Small Gym
o Wednesday, April 24, 3:30pm Small Gym
Each meeting will last approximately 40 minutes. Students must attend one and need to be on time, and bring a #2 pencil and something (a clipboard, etc.) on which to write.
• April is National Poetry Month, an opportunity to read and share poetry. Join the fun of sharing with Poem in Pocket. Find a poem you love and keep a copy with you to share it with teachers, friends, and classmates. Share your poem at the library any time this month and you will be entered in a drawing to win a bookstore gift certificate and be featured in a library READ poster. Come by with your poem today! Don’t have a poem? Ask at the library for help finding one!
• The spring production Anything Goes opens TODAY, April 19th at 7:30 and plays April 20th at 7:30, Wednesday April 24th, special performance at 3:30, Thursday & Friday, April 25th & 26th at 7:30 and Saturday, April 27th at 2:00 and 7:30. Pre-sale tickets are $10 for students, $12 for adults. Pre-sale tickets are available this Friday at lunch in the quad.
• Last day to buy tickets for Anything Goes at a 15% discount (pre-sale price) is TODAY. Next week tickets will be on sale in the quad at lunch for $12.00 students/seniors and $15 for adults.

• IN-N-OUT HONOR ROLL RECOGNITION LUNCH – In-N-Out will be returning to Mira Costa on Tuesday, April 23rd to serve complimentary lunches to all students who earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher at Mira Costa last semester. All eligible students must bring their current Mira Costa I.D. to the school auditorium check-in area during the regular lunch period (12:21-12:51) in order to participate. Please check the MCHS Website or on the lists up in the cafeteria to see if you are on the list – the offices will be closed during the in/out lunch. If you are not on the list but feel you should be, please see your advisor before April 22, 2013.
• SAT Savvy Intensive Prep Class – last prep class for the June 1st exam. 18 hours of instruction at MCHS & 4 practice tests. For more info, go to www.satsavvy.info, or Room 18, 50, or CCC.
• Do you need to hone your reading and writing skills? Sign up for the Summer School Class: A study of Selected Literature. This course is designed to guide you through the summer reading and prepare you for the 1st week of school! Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8-10:30am.
• The Mira Costa Cheerleading Tryouts are coming up! If you are interested in trying out for the team, please pick up an informational packet with all the important dates from the front office. The cheer team is under the new leadership of Head Coach, Monica Bloodgood. All dancers, gymnasts, cheerleaders, performers and athletes are welcome to tryout. Hope to see you all there!
• Attentions student photographers! La Vista’s photo contest has been extended to Tuesday, 4/20. Please turn in submissions with your name, grade, and number on the back in the La Vista drop box in Room 6.
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
• Come write with the Creative Writing Club TODAY and every Friday at lunch in Room 18, Ms. Vaughan’s room.
• Come to Ms. Seiker’s Room 34 at lunch on Monday, April 22nd, to hear a guide dog user talk about his experiences. All are welcome!
• Attention all Relay for Life team captains! There will be a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, April 23rd, to discuss team development and making sure your team’s ready for the event!

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• Attn: Juniors and Sophomores! The PTSA is sponsoring a field trip to the National College Fair at the Anaheim Convention Center on Sunday, April 28th. Hundreds of college representatives will be there. Please come to the CCC to sign up. Seats are limited!!
