• Attention next years Juniors and Seniors! If you are interested in participating in Freshman Orientation and leading a group, please come to a brief meeting in room 120 at lunch on Tuesday 3/5.
• Celebrate Read Across America and World Read Aloud Day at the Mira Costa Library. Come by the library TODAY, March 4 - 6 to have your photo taken with your favorite book. Your photo will be posted to our Flickr webpage, and you will earn a chance to win a bookstore gift certificate and be featured in a READ poster. Both students and staff are invited to participate.
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
• Need community service? It’s not too late to join the Lovejoy Foundation Club! We help animals in need and find them homes. Come to Room 72 TODAY and every Monday!
• Come to Cupcakes for a Cause Club and help raise money for an orphanage. Room 15 at lunch TODAY!
• Do you have any old sports gear like AYSO or MBYB jerseys? Bring your old jerseys, shorts, and cleats to Room 46 to help support Kleats for Kids Club! Give less fortunate children the gifts of sport!
• Come to Chinese Club TODAY in Room 25! We will be learning about Chinese origami. All new members are welcome!
• Cuipo Club meets on Wednesdays at lunch. Come help save the rainforest and join us for MCHS Pride Day on March 16th.
• Attention Girls! Are you looking for an opportunity to do community service? S-Club works to help women and children in our community! Come join S-Club TODAY at lunch in Room 111!
• If you want to help your community Little League, come to Baseball for All Club which meets TODAY at lunch in Mr. Olson’s Room 203.
• Come to Dance Club outside the gym TODAY! New members welcome!
SENIORS
• Seniors Submitting Scholarship Notebooks:
The master list of scholarships is available in the CCC. Please come into the CCC by March 14th to nominate yourself by adding your name in the scholarship folder for each scholarship. This takes some time, so plan accordingly.
SPORTS
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• Representatives from Leadership Manhattan Beach will be giving a presentation Friday, March 8th during lunch in the CCC. This program is a great community service activity for sophomores and juniors. Feel free to bring your lunch and learn more about this terrific leadership program.
