• Thinking about taking Appreciation of the Arts next year? Come by the library to see a display projects done by this year's class.
• February is Black History Month. Please come visit the library display of books on this theme.
• AP Students: Did you miss registering for the AP exams? There will be late registration TODAY at lunch only at the student store. An additional fee of $15 for each exam will be charged.
• GALS Club is going to have female UCLA Science Reps come to Room 75 on February 12th from 4-5 to talk about pursuing a STEM career as a woman. You can sign up in the CCC or in most science/math classes including Room 75.
• Submit your artwork, photography, short stories, or poems to Mira Costa’s own Literary Magazine, ‘Reflections’. Get your work published by sending it to [email protected]
• The Mira Costa Muscle will be selling singing valgrams all this week and next Monday and Tuesday. Talk to Maurice Welch if you are interested!
• Valgrams will be sold at the student store! Come and get yours as soon as possible!
• Buy singing Valgrams from Coterie during lunch! Only three dollars!
• Students interested in AP Classes next year: AP information presentation for AP JAVA, Tuesday, Feb 12th at lunch in Room 12.
• Join the Drama Department on Tuesday, 2/12 at 7pm in Room 1 for the annual Equity Fights AIDS Benefit. There will be a multitude of great talent and its only $5!
• Do you need community service hours? Grand View needs a lot of teens to help with the GV Science Expo Wed, March 13th. Shifts start as early as 2:15pm and end as late as 7:30pm. CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
• Come get knighted by the King of Chess Club Fridays at lunch in Room 23. Chess Club is the best club!
• Come to Kleats 4 Kids Club TODAY at lunch in Room 46! Donate gently used sports equipment to less fortunate children. There will be food!
• Attention NHS Members: Our mandatory monthly meeting will be TODAY, Friday, Feb. 8th. We will meet in the drama Room 1 instead of the auditorium.
• Creative Writing Club meets TODAY in Room 18, Ms. Vaughn’s room.
• Come to Chinese Club Monday, 2/11, at lunch in Room 25 to celebrate Chinese New Year! We will have lots of Chinese food and stories to share! Anyone who comes gets a small gift!
• Fandom Club will be meeting TODAY in Room 61 during lunch. Come watch Doctor Who!
SENIORS
• Please review the Senior 2nd Semester Calendar for important dates to remember. The calendar can be viewed though the MCHS website.
• Seniors – Be sure to check your 1st semester grades for accuracy. Counselors will be sending mid-year reports starting Monday, 2/11. See your counselor ASAP if you are requiring a change of grade for any of your 1st semester classes.

• Purdue University will be visiting TODAY, February 8th during 2nd period.
• Visiting College Reps:
UCLA – February 12, 3rd period – for seniors who have applied and for any freshman through juniors interested in applying to UCLA.
Academy of Art University (San Francisco) – February 12, 4th period.
FACULTY
• Life Touch Photography will be here Monday, February 11 from 12:30 – 2:30 pm in the auditorium lobby for any Faculty or Staff who didn’t get their ID card in August
