STUDENT INFO
• Starting TODAY, any Students who have an “excused 0, 1st, or 6th period” or surf team on their schedule need to come to the Guidance Office to get an “Off-Grounds sticker” placed on their student ID card. Off-Grounds will be issued before school, at snack, at lunch, or after school only. Please do not come during class time. If you are stopped by the police without the Off-Grounds sticker on your ID card, you may be subject to a truancy citation.
• Interested in becoming a Manhattan Beach Police Explorer and learning about Law enforcement? Come and join a 12 week academy. Sign-up sheet will be in guidance counselor office. Briefing about what an explorer is once you sigh up.
• AP Students: Don’t forget to sign up to register to take your AP” exams TODAY at lunch only at the student store. Please bring your completed blue worksheet and a pen to complete the actual registration form. Checks ($94 for each exam) should be made payable to MCHS.
• The Snack Bar by the pool will be TODAY, Friday and next Monday, 2/4 and Wed, 2/6.
• Attention student drivers! Beginning TODAY (Friday), parking for Costa students IN THE DISTRICT LOT north of Waller Stadium will be limited to the lot immediately EAST of the MBUSD offices (between office and building and Peck). No student parking will be permitted in the 2 other lots and absolutely no parallel parking will be permitted along driveway curbs.
• The Neptunian Women’s Club Art and Photo Contest is coming to a close. Deadline to turn in entries is Friday, Feb. 8th. Please turn in submissions to Ms. Gardner in the Admin Office.
• The American Mathematics Competition AMC 10 and 12 tests will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 5th during 5th and 6th period in Room 45. Limited space is available. Sign up in Room 59.
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
• Come get knighted by the king of chess club TODAY at lunch in Room 23. Chess Club is the best Club!
• Attention NHS Members: Our regularly scheduled all-member February meeting has been postponed to next Friday, Feb. 8th.
• NHS Members interested in brainstorming ideas for our chapter service project should meet in Mrs. Wachell’s Room 32 on Tuesday, Feb 5th.
• Come to Cupcakes for a Cause Club! All new members welcome in Room 15 at lunch on Mondays!
• Come to Kleats for Kids Club TODAY at lunch in Room 46. Help donate gently used sports equipment to less fortunate children. There will be food.
• Fandom Club meets TODAY in Room 61 during lunch. Come watch Doctor Who!
• Creative Writing Club meets TODAY in Room 18, Ms. Vaughn’s room.
SENIORS
• Please review the Senior 2nd Semester Calendar for important dates to remember. The calendar can be viewed though the MCHS website.
• Seniors - If you missed one of the mandatory Scholarship Notebook meetings and want to submit a Scholarship Notebook, come to the makeup meeting on Monday, February 4 during lunch in the CCC.

SPORTS
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• Please turn in your mid-year report forms/requests to your Guidance Counselor if applicable to the Private College or out of State College you applied to. They are due no later than tomorrow, February 1st, 2013. Please refer back to the guidelines regarding instructions for Private and Out of State Colleges/Universities located on the MCHS website.
• All Students – Come hear about AFS and FACES, two international study abroad and foreign exchange programs, at lunch in the CCC on Tuesday, February 5. Come see what the world has to offer!
