STUDENT INFO
• Hermosa Valley School is looking for HVS alumni to be Cabin Leaders for the 6th Grade Outdoor Science School in Malibu. Outdoor Science School will take place from Monday, March 11 to Friday, March 15.
It may be possible to earn Community Service credits. Applicant deadline Friday, February 1, so that we
can have a crew + alternates in place by then. Please contact Mr. Hecker at [email protected].
• Any student wishing to join the MCHS Swim Team and are not currently enrolled in water polo or swimming: Tryouts are at the pool TODAY, January 16th at 3:00pm. Be prepared to swim!
• SAT Savvy Intensive Prep Class starts February 2nd. Sign up TODAY and improve your SAT scores! 18 hours of instruction plus 4 practice tests. For more info, go to www.satsavvy.info or Room 18, 50, CC.
• Come to Mira Costa’s second annual Poetry Out Loud Competition this Thursday in the Drama Room (Rm 1) at 7pm – admission is FREE!
• Costa Rica 2013 meeting on Friday at lunch in Room 47. Pura vida!
• Come by the library to see the great new book direction signs by Ms. Martin and Ms. Park's Art classes and new art projects by Ms. Park's Appreciation of the Arts classes.
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
• Come to Lunches with Love if you want to feed the homeless and get community service hours! Room 120 at lunch every Thursday!
• Come to Food Critics Club TODAY in Room 50.
• Science Olympiad meets TODAY and every Wednesday in Room 77. Members, study for your events. Testing starts soon.
• Do you love science, technology, engineering, and/or math? Come by Room 75 TODAY and every Wednesday at lunch and join GALS Club!
• Come to Red Cross Club TODAY in Room 73 at lunch.
• Come to Girl Scout Club every other Thursday! Come this week to buy Girl Scout Cookies in Room 38!
SENIORS
• Scholarship Notebook meetings: TODAY, January, 16th, or 24th. Seniors! Those of you who plan to submit a scholarship notebook must attend ONE of these meetings during lunch in the CCC. The deadline to submit a Scholarship Notebook is Feb. 28th by the end of lunch – no exceptions!

• Please turn in your mid-year report forms/requests to your Guidance Counselor if applicable to the Private College or out of State College you applied to.
