• REMINDER: MCHS High School and Admin. Office will be closed December 24th thru Jan. 4th for Winter Break.
• The library will close at 2 PM TODAY. Please come get books for the break and take care of any other library business before 2 PM. Thank you and have a wonderful holiday rich with reading!
• Tryouts for the very successful and highly competitive Mira Costa Badminton team will be held on Tuesday, January 15th and Wednesday, January 16th from 4 to 6 pm at the Manhattan Beach Badminton Club. Only the top 34 players will make the team. See Dr. Wilson in Room 57 for details.
• Audition packets for the spring musical “Anything Goes” are available in the drama Room 1. Auditions will be Monday, 1/14 – Thursday 1/17.
• Do you want to ice skate and save rainforests at the same time? Come support the Ecology Club this Saturday, December 22nd from 4-7pm at the Toyota Sports Center! Tickets are $10. Please email [email protected] for tickets or purchase at the door.
• Two spots are left to visit England, Ireland, and Scotland over Spring Break! Deadline is coming soon! See Mr. Cox in Room 400 or Ms. Baral in Room 60 for details!
• Start your winter break right! Come to the Lend a Hand Holiday Benefit Party! Food and entertainment (including Comedy Sportz) will be provided for a small price. All proceeds go to helping the nameless in Skid Row and victims from Sandy Hook Elementary. Search “Lend a Hand Club Benefit Party” on Facebook!
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
• ALL CLUBS: Please come by the table in the cafeteria to sign a banner of support to the residents of Newtown.
• Want to learn how to talk with your hands? Come join the Sign Language Club TODAY in Room 125.
• One Well at a Time Club meets TODAY in Mr. Bartlett’s Room 67. Come help raise money to drill wells in Uganda to give the people their fresh water.
• Come get knighted by the King of Chess Club TODAY in Room 23 at lunch!
• Creative Writing Club is meeting TODAY in Room 18!
• Fandom Club meets TODAY in Room 61 at lunch. Come see Doctor Who! Christmas treats (might) be served!
SENIORS
• Scholarship Notebook meetings: January 8th, 16th, or 24th. Seniors! Those of you who plan to submit a scholarship notebook must attend ONE of these meetings during lunch in the CCC. The deadline to submit a Scholarship Notebook is Feb. 28th by the end of lunch – no exceptions!

• Mandatory Boys Volleyball meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 52. Don’t be late.
