• Tryouts for the very successful and highly competitive Mira Costa Badminton team will be held on Tuesday, January 15th and Wednesday, January 16th from 4 to 6 pm at the Manhattan Beach Badminton Club. Only the top 34 players will make the team. See Dr. Wilson in Room 57 for details.
• By popular demand, we are ordering additional Bob Fish “I Yell Because I Care” t-shirts. Come to Mrs. Froseth in the guidance office with $10.00 cash to place your order. Orders will be taken thru Fri. Dec 21st
• Toys for Kids gifts are due TODAY, December 19th!
• Juniors: Top math and science juniors who are interested in learning about summer internships at Boeing should attend an informational meeting at lunch TODAY, December 19th. Students accepting into this program are paired with a mentor and receive high school credit! A representative from Boeing and students who participated in this program last year will be on hand to discuss this opportunity and answer your questions.
• Improve your SAT scores! Come sign up for the SAT Savvy Intensive Prep Sessions: 18 hours of instruction, plus 4 practice tests. And…it’s here at Mira Costa! For more info, visit www.satsavvy.info or Room 18, or 50!
• Audition packets for the spring musical “Anything Goes” are available in the drama Room 1. Auditions will be Monday, 1/14 – Thursday 1/17.
• Poetry Out Loud will be held Thursday, January 17th in the Drama Room 1 at 7pm! Be sure to submit your application to Ms. Sieker in Room 34 be this Friday if you want to be a contestant!
• Come see the 3 days of Holiday Noon-time Theatre TODAY at lunch in Room 1and tomorrow, Thursday. There will be different scenes each day!
• Attention Students: Talent show auditions are when we come back from break! Audition forms are now available in Room 43 or in talent show sign pouches. Come get them!
• Do you want to ice skate and save rainforests at the same time? Come support the Ecology Club this Saturday, December 22nd from 4-7pm at the Toyota Sports Center! Tickets are $10. Please email [email protected] for tickets or purchase at the door.
• Its Ugly Sweater Day #2! Don’t forget to wear your ugly holiday sweaters on Friday! There will be stampede fun activities in the quad!
• Two spots are left to visit England, Ireland, and Scotland over Spring Break! Deadline is coming soon! See Mr. Cox in Room 400 or Ms. Baral in Room 60 for details!
• Come to the Big Gym TODAY at lunch for the dodge ball finals!

• ALL CLUBS: Please come by the table in the cafeteria to sign a banner of support to the residents of Newtown.

• Want to learn how to talk with your hands? Come join the Sign Language Club TODAY in Room 102 and Fridays in Room 125.
• Join the Automotive Engineering Club! Meetings every Thursday in Room 33!
• One Well at a Time Club meets every Friday in Mr. Bartlett’s Room 67. Come help raise money to drill wells in Uganda to give the people their fresh water.
• Science Olympiad meets TODAY and every Wednesday in Room 77!

SENIORS
• Scholarship Notebook meetings: January 8th, 16th, or 24th. Seniors! Those of you who plan to submit a scholarship notebook must attend ONE of these meetings during lunch in the CCC. The deadline to submit a Scholarship Notebook is Feb. 28th by the end of lunch – no exceptions!
SPORTS
• Mandatory Boys Volleyball meeting Friday, Dec. 21 at lunch in Room 52. Don’t be late.
