STUDENT INFO

• CSF Fall Membership drive runs through October 5th. This membership drive is open to 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. Please check the eligibility list on the door of Room 76 and then pick up your application.

• Ping Pong Tournament sign-ups all THIS week at lunch in front of the student store. $5 per person!

• TODAY is Dippin’ Dots Thursday! Come out to the gym to pick up your favorite flavor after school today!

• Pad your college application with community service hours by participating in the After-School Peer Tutoring program in the library. If you are a junior or a senior, sign up to work as a tutor in the library after school. You set your own days and hours. Stop in the library after school Monday through Thursday and speak with Mr. Zeoli or Mr. McAvin.

• Avoid falling behind in your classes. Come to the library after school and avail yourself of free tutoring offered by upper classmen. Help is available in all subjects. Just show up and speak to Mr. Zeoli or Mr. McAvin.

• Stressed about college preparation! Take an intellectual break on Saturday, October 13th to attend the TEDxManhattanBeach 2nd Annual Conference: “Journey To Purpose: Dream.Educate.Thrive.” Come hear how many successful innovators and thinkers have discovered their careers and purpose. Inspiration comes in many different forms – sometimes you discover it early, and other times the journey takes longer. In today’s global landscape, the journey can change direction, or become a meandering path. One thing is for certain, thought – there has never been a more fascinating time to explore your purpose.

CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
• Attention Students: Club Day sign-ups start TODAY at 8:00am. Please get them in as soon as possible!

• Attention: Announcements with missing information will not be published (correct dates, room numbers!!).

• Are you a geek? Do you enjoy using and helping other people with computer hardware, software, or mobile devices? Then please consider joining the Mira Costa Geek Squad. This group will be offering their assistance to staff and students most days during lunch in the Mira Costa Library. If you would like to learn about becoming a member of the squad, come to an organizational meeting during lunch TODAY, September 27 in the library workroom.
• Come to Friendship Circle Tuesdays and Thursdays in Room 114 to have a great time!
• The “HH” Club will meet TODAY in Room 407 at lunch.
• Come Fiesta with us Salsa Style! Every Thursday (including TODAY) at lunch in Room 48. No experience required!
• Young at Heart Club is meeting TODAY in Room 50 at lunch! Teach older adults how to use technology and get community service hours!
• Come to Key Club, the largest high school community service organization, TODAY at lunch in Room 78.
• Gay-Straight Alliance meets TODAY in Room 23.
• The Applied Theoretical Strategies (ATS) Club meets every Friday in Mrs. Claypoole’s Room 43 afterschool from 3-5pm. If you like to play board games, card games, or video games, stop by and join in! Everyone welcomed!
SPORTS
• Boys Volleyball tryouts will be held on Thursday, October 4th. Freshmen will tryout from 3:00-4:30 in the main gym, followed by all others from 4:30-6:30. Any questions, see Mr. Ninnis in Room 52.

SENIORS
• Attention Seniors: We have a wonderful speaker coming to talk to our students about the college essay TODAY, September 27th, 7-8:15pm in the auditorium.

• College Rep Visits – Students need to sign up to attend on Naviance.
