STUDENT INFO
• Remember: No school on Monday, September 17th.
• Reminder students: No lunches, lunch money, homework, etc., will be delivered to you in the classroom, nor will you be notified by the office to pick them up. The attendance office is not responsible for any money or other items left for you.
• New student ID pictures and Lifetouch makeup pictures can be taken during nutrition and lunch on September 25th in the Auditorium.
• Students needing reprints (adding ASB/Yearbook marker or lost) of ID cards can drop them off in the admin. office with Ms. Gardner starting Thursday, 9/18/12. Reprints will be available for pickup Wednesday, 9/19/12 afterschool.
• PSAT and PLAN Test Registration will take place this week in the student store during lunch. Cost is $25 per exam. Space is limited, so sign up early to guarantee a spot. Late Registration will take place September 18, 19, & 20 in the student store. Cost will be $35 per exam during late registration. There will be no registration allowed after September 20th!! The PLAN test will be given on Saturday, October 13th at 8am and is for sophomores ONLY. The PSAT will be given on Saturday, October 20th at 8am. The PSAT is designed for juniors, but sophomores and freshman are allowed to take the exam. It is recommended that you are in Algebra 3-4 or higher if taking the PSAT.
• Want to visit the ancient city of Athens, cruise Greek Islands, and walk the streets of Istanbul this summer? Then come to an information meeting Thursday, September 20th, at lunch in Room 123 or speak to Mr. Uhalt.
• Students: if you still have a “Staff ID”, please come to Room 43 to trade it in. All IDs have been reprinted.
• Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors – if you didn’t pick up your stampede shirt and you ordered one, go to Room 43 at lunch next week. Senior shirts will be distributed in class.
CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS
• Come to Room 114 Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunch for Friendship Circle Club! Everyone is welcome!
• Come to the first meeting of Philathropic Runners Club in Room 72! New members are welcome!
• Do you love reading? Would you like to discuss books with friends, get the first scoop on new books, and support the library program? Come to an organizational meeting for TLC: The Library Club during lunch on Tuesday in the library work room. Please arrive promptly and bring your lunch. Newcomers are welcomed and we will be serving some snacks and holding elections.
• Investors’ Club will be meeting TODAY in Mr. Geczi’s Room 225. We will be doing Homecoming Nominations. New members are all welcome!
• Come to Teens Against Domestic Violence Club in Mrs. Geczi’s Room 47! TODAY at lunch, have fun and make a difference!
SPORTS
• Softball tryouts Tuesday 9/18 at 3:30 on the Varsity Softball Diamond.
SENIORS
• Letter of Rec Workshop TODAY, September 14th during lunch in the CCC.
• All seniors who agreed to be big brothers or sisters, please remember to stop by room 32 to sign a commitment form if you haven’t done so already.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• College Knowledge Night is Tuesday, September 18, from 7 – 9 pm in the auditorium. Come hear from representatives from UCLA, Cal State Dominguez Hills, USC and The Princeton Review. The college reps will discuss application requirements for UCs, CSUs, and private colleges, and offer tips on how to become a strong applicant. The Princeton Review rep will discuss the differences between the SAT and ACT, testing requirements, and testing schedules.
FACULTY
• Make up pictures for Faculty and Staff will be on Tuesday, Sept. 25th from 8-3 in the auditorium lobby.
• Attention: Faculty teaching freshman classes. The students will be voting in their second period for freshman class officers TODAY.
