• REMINDER: NO SCHOOL on Monday, September 3rd
• Starting Wednesday, September 5th any Students who have an “excused 0, 1st, or 6th period” or surf team on their schedule need to come to the Guidance Office to get an “Off-Grounds sticker” placed on their student ID card. Off-Grounds will be issued before school, at snack, at lunch, or after school only. Please do not come during class time. If you are stopped by the police without the Off-Grounds sticker on your ID card, you may be subject to a truancy citation.
• “Attention students: Only students who have purchased a 2012-13 parking permit are allowed to park in the student lot. Do NOT park in any of the numbered spaces—those spaces are reserved for teachers. Students who park without a valid permit or in a numbered teacher parking space will be ticketed.”
• Boys and girls Cross Country tryouts TODAY, 8/31 at 3:15 pm on the track field. Contact coach Calderon for further details, Room 72.
• Attention: Anyone interested in track, tryouts will be held TODAY, August 31st at 3:15 pm on the track. All Freshmen are encouraged to attend. Remember to wear shorts and track shoes.
• Attention all girls interested in playing basketball. Tryouts will be held: Tuesday, 9/4 at MCHS 6:30-8:30, Wednesday, 9/5 at MCHS 6:30-8:30, Thursday, 9/6 at MBMS 6:45-8:45, Friday 9/7 at MBMS 6:45-8:45. If you have any questions contact Coach Miranda at [email protected]
• Want to play Freshman football? Come to Room 222 and speak to Coach Currier or come to the SW field after school.
• SAT Savvy, an intensive SAT prep program is being offered this fall. Class starts September 8th so hurry and sign up. 18 hours of instruction and four practice tests. Come to Room 18, 50 or the CCC.
• Girls Soccer try-outs Tuesday, Sept 4th – Sept 7th at 3:00 pm. Meet at back fields by Meadows ave.
• Boys Golf Info: Tryouts for fall. See Mr. Fauver, Room 200 or Mr. Timberlake Room 202 for Forms and dates.
• Boys’ Basketball tryouts will be held Wednesday, September 5 at Manhattan Beach Middle School. The tryouts will be from 5-7. All potential players not in a fall sport should at these tryouts.
• Students who still need textbooks: Please come to the library as soon as possible from 7:30- 3:00pm. We will be opening for library business very soon, once textbooks are all distributed.
• Students: If your ID card says STAFF, you must see Mrs. Claypoole in room 43 to get your new one.
• Girls Water Polo: There will be a tryout for girls water polo Tuesday, September 4 after school at the pool.
• Boys Soccer: Anyone interested in try-outs for boys soccer, meet Coach Smith in room 26 at 3:00 on Tuesday, September 4. Come ready to play!
• Students needing to get or return textbooks can do so from 7:30 AM to 2:55 PM each day. We are not open for textbook transactions after school. Students are reminded to check all of their books for damages, including missing or torn pages, writing, or water damage, and bring any damaged books to the library within two weeks of checkout. After that time, the student becomes responsible for such damages. Thanks for your help with this.
