STUDENT INFORMATION

• Students please remember to check admin. office windows for home room assignment for STAR testing next week.

• Attention Students: Tomorrow, May 18th is the last day to purchase discounted Prom tickets. Next week, May 21st through May 25th will be the last week to purchase them at an increased price. Tickets are sold during lunch in the student store.

• Sign-ups for the second Dodge-for-a-cause lunchtime dodge ball tournament are this week outside of the student store at lunch.

• Class of 2012, 2013, 2014 Jostens Class ring orders will be taken Thursday, May24th at lunch and Friday, May 25th at snack and lunch in the quad.

• Remember to bring check, cash or credit cards to order your summer and core reading books in the library this week.

• TODAY is Dippin Dots Day. Stop by the gym afterschool today to enjoy your favorite flavor for just $3.00.

• What time is it? Time to pick up and fill out your scholar quiz team entry form available in the office. Sign up Wednesday, May 23rd outside the student store 7:45- 8:05. Limited to first 64 teams

• This is the last week to “Clean Out Your Closet”, bring all unused clothes to the main office, library, ASB room or Room 223. Thank you!

• Poetry Jam at Pages this Sunday, May 20th at 1:00 pm. Come support Mira Costas creative students and participate in the PTSA book fair. All are welcome.

• England/Ireland/Scotland Spring Break 2013 meeting, Room 60 at lunch TODAY, May 17th.

• Mira Costa Choir announces auditions. If you are currently not enrolled in Choir and are interested in singing next year stop by RG16 next to the rose garden and see Mr. Hayden. Come join the award winning Costa Choir.

• Last call for schedules! Please return your scheduling forms to your counselors TODAY. Thank you.

• Next year Yoga students: please attend a quick meeting during nutrition in the main gym TODAY, May 17th.

• All ISA (Independent Study Athletics) 2012-2013 applications are available on the MC website. Applications are due on or before June 13, 2012!!!

• Do you need help with your computer, smart phone, or calculator? Come to the library workroom during lunch on Friday, May 18th and get assistance from Mira Costa’s new “Geek Squad”

• Don’t miss the two exciting evenings of music brought to you by your own Mira Costa Bands. Saturday night, 7:00 pm, is the extremely popular percussion studio concert, Percussionality. Pieces include some serious percussion music, and also some really fun numbers – think Stomp! This concert is always a huge hit with the audience! Prior to the concert, Dave Gerhart will be conducting a percussion clinic for the public entitled “The 21st Century Percussionist Today, Tomorrow & The Future”. If you play percussion, we encourage you to attend the clinic at 5:30. Students, teachers and children are free. Adults are $10 at the box office.

• Then on Monday night, the Costa Bands are presenting their first ever all jazz concert. Come hear all three Costa jazz bands Monday at 7:00 pm. What a great way to start the week! This concert is free for everyone


CLUBS / ORGANIZATION

• The South Bay Student Film Festival is on May 18th at 7:00 pm in the auditorium. Admission is $5. Come see the best high school movies!

• Attention CSF Members: your second period teacher has received your Spring 2012 membership cards in their mailbox on Friday, May 11th. Please ask them nicely to pass them out if they have not already done so.

• Friendship Circle at lunch in Room 114!

• Attention NHS Members: Please remember that your individual service logs are due Monday, May 21st!!!

• Come to Key Club in Room 78 at lunch TODAY. Get community service hours!!!

• Come to Invisible Children Club TODAY in Room 46!

• If you’re 16 or older make sure you sign up for the blood drive for either June 7th or June 8th. Sign up in Room 43
