STUDENT INFORMATION
• ATTENTION NEXT YEAR’S JUNIORS & SENIORS: Now is your chance to sign up for student parking next year. Come to the Guidance Office and see Ms. Gardner before/after school or during snack or lunch to sign up. Students are not allowed to sign up for their friends. If you currently have a parking pass, a new one is required every year to park in the lot.
• The reception for the All Media Student Art Show will be held this Friday from 5-7 pm at the Manhattan Beach Creative Arts Center. It will be a fun evening of art and live music. All students, families and friends are invited to attend. Admission is free. The Creative Arts Center is located at 1560 Manhattan Beach Blvd. across the street from Polliwog Park.
• Congratulations to the winners of this year’s Student Planner Cover contest! The designs of Cora Lovy, Tess Barnhill and Jennifer O’Brien will grace next year’s covers.
• Designers in Manhattan presents the fourth annual Mira Costa Fashion show this Friday, May 11th from 6:30 to 9:00 pm in the auditorium. Admission is free.
• Charitable Couture presents “clean out your closet day”. Please bring any unwanted clothes and shoes in bags to the library, main office, ASB room and Room 223.
• Tryouts for the 2012-13 Girls Volleyball Team will be held on May 9 & 10 at MBMS gym from 3-5pm.

• Want to make the most out of your lunch money? Go to Investors Club TODAY in Mr. Geczi’s Room, #225. No previous investing experience is required.
SPORTS
• Playing football in the fall? Come to a meeting on Thursday, May 10th, at lunch in room 105.
SENIORS
• Tickets for the Senior trip to Magic Mountain will be on sale through this Friday. After Friday, your choices on May 23rd will be here at Costa. Don’t miss out, get your tickets today.
• Seniors: For the 3rd year, Sandacre Scholarship Fund is honored to recognize the GREAT teachers at Mira Costa High School. It’s that time to nominate a teacher who has inspired, prepared and or stimulated his/her students to help them achieve their future endeavors. Please see your senior English teacher for the nomination form. After completing the form, please submit to Denise Anderson’s mailbox on or before May 15th. The winner(s) will be announced at the annual All Awards Assembly, May 31st !
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• An officer from the U.S. Navy will be in the CCC TODAY at lunch, 5/9 to answer questions regarding nuclear power opportunities in the Navy as well as ROTC options.
