STUDENT INFORMATION
• The 12th annual art show will be held at the Manhattan Beach Creative Arts Center on May 11th – 19th. All students are encouraged to participate. Entries can be any medium (drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, etc.) See Ms. Martin, Mr. Reichardt or Ms. Zask in Room 102, 107 or 116 for more info and official entry form. Deadline to submit work is APRIL 30th.
• We need female models for the Fashion Show. Please come to instructor Priscy Ratcliff’s classroom, Room 112 during lunch 12:21-12:50. Each model will receive cosmetics for participating in the event.
• Pre-sale tickets for the spring musical Fiddler on the Roof are on sale TODAY and the pre-sale price will continue until 4/20, opening night. You can still purchase tickets at the regular price after the show opens. Pre-sale price is $10.00 students, children and senior citizens and $12.00 adults. Regular price $12.00 and $15.00, show dates 4/20, 4/21, 4/26, 4/27, 4/28 at 7:30 pm with a Sat- matinee on 4/28 at 2:00 pm. You can also purchase tickets online at www.miracostadramaboosters.org. • AP Students: The first AP Exam pre-identification session is tomorrow, April 19 at 7:00 a.m. in the Small Gym. The meeting will last approximately 40 minutes. Students need to be on time, and bring a #2 pencil and something (a clipboard, book, etc.) on which to write.
• SAT Savvy sign-ups for the June 2nd Test Prep is finally here. Register by April 20th to get the discount. For more information go to Room 18, 50, or the CCC.
• The MB Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Young Entrepreneurs Award of $500 for students to use in their business or non-profit. Applications on the website.
• Costa Rica 2013 meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 47. PURA VIDA!!!
• If you are interested in going to Italy Spring Break 2013. Please join Ms. Beauchaine and Mr. Uhalt in Room 122 at lunch tomorrow, 4/19 for an informational meeting.
• There will be a fundraiser to help the Kekauoha family to cover the funeral expenses for Rachel tomorrow, 4/19/12 at The Counter in Hermosa Beach. From 11am to 10pm, 20% of all proceeds will go to the Rachel Kekauoha Memorial Fund. Please come and support!!!
• It’s National Poetry Month. Come by the library to participate in our “Spine Poetry” Contest. The winning spine poem will win a gift certificate.
• Author D.J. MacHale will be at {pages} bookstore in Downtown Manhattan Beach at 6:30 PM tomorrow discussing his new book, The Blood.
• Author Lauren Myracle, author Shine and other popular books, will be at Mira Costa Thursday morning, and students are invited to meet her in the library during Snack.
CLUBS / ORGANIZATION
• Come Fiesta with us Salsa Style! TODAY at lunch in Room 48.
• If you are interested in the exciting world of competitive science next year, then come to the Science Olympiad information meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 77.
• Come to Baja Club tomorrow in Room 35 at lunch.
• Richstone Fundraiser tomorrow, 4/19! Come get dinner at Cafe Rio from 6-8. Also, sign up for the Richstone Pier to Pier walk under the Mira Costa team!

SPORTS
• Come to the Toyota Sports Center to watch the hockey teams in action. JV plays TODAY at 7:30pm and Varsity plays tomorrow also at 7:30pm.
SENIORS.
• Reminder: Graduation announcements will be available for pick up from Jostens, tomorrow, April 19th at snack and lunch outside of the auditorium.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• A rep from the U.S. Navy will be in the CCC during lunch TODAY, April 18th to answer questions regarding ROTC and nuclear power opportunities within the Navy.
• Scholarship Opportunity! The American Legion has extended its scholarship to include any senior with financial need whose mother or father was an active service member, of whose aunt, uncle, or cousin is currently an active service member. Please come to the CCC ASAP to sign up to be considered for this scholarship.
• A representative from El Camino will be on campus next Monday and Tuesday, April 23-24 to give English and Math placement tests. Sign up this week in the CCC to reserve a spot.
