STUDENT INFORMATION
• Attention Volleyball Fans! Come on out to watch the men of Mustang Volleyball take on the Loyola Cubs at Loyola Marymount University. The first 100 students to come to the 7pm varsity game will get a free Costa Pride t-shirt to wear at the game.
• Come out to the Toyota Sports Center TODAY and tomorrow to cheer on the Mira Costa Hockey teams. JV plays El Segundo on Wednesday at 7:45 pm and Varsity takes on Loyola Thursday at 7:30 pm.
• ASB Election Information Meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 40.
• Attention all students, anyone interested in joining ASB Student Government for 2012-2013 MUST ATTEND a mandatory meeting Thursday the 29th. For more information, see Mrs. Claypoole in Room 43.
• The 12th annual Student Art Show will be held at the Manhattan Beach Creative Arts Center on May 11th thru 19th. All students are encouraged to participate. Entries can be any medium (drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, etc.) See Ms. Martin, Mr. Reichardt or Ms. Zask in Room 102, 107 or 116 for more info and official entry form. Deadline to submit work is April 30th.
• This year Reflections Club is holding cover design contest. Turn in any black/white submission to Room 18 or email to [email protected]. Winner will receive a $25 gift card to Pages Book Store!
• This is the last week to vote for California Young Reader Medal books. Come by the library to vote! Also come by the library to learn about our new collection of ebooks you can check out and read online and about our premium EasyBib account to help you with research citations.
• The library has a few more copies of Hunger Games now. Come by for a copy.
• SAT Savvy Test Prep-you have until Friday, March 30th to sign up for the May 5th test. Last chance, Hurry!!!
• Costa Rica 2013. Fee increase starts April 1st…sign up TODAY!!! See Sra. Geczi in Room 47 for details.
CLUBS / ORGANIZATION
• Come fiesta with us Salsa style!!! TODAY in Room 48 at Lunch.
• Want to make the most out of your lunch money? Come to Investors Club TODAY in Mr. Geczi’s Room, Room 225. No previous investing experience is required.
• Animal Rights Club is collecting towels to donate to the Carson Animal Shelter. Drop off donations in the box in the main office, Room 43, or Room 46. Donations will be accepted until 4/13.
• Richstone Club meets TODAY in Room 18. Bring a stapler to hang posters!
• Come to Room 33 at lunch TODAY and help save lives at Premature Baby Protection Club.
SPORTS
• Come to the annual Costa vs Loyola volleyball match at LMU on Friday, 3/30 at 7pm.
SENIORS.
• Applications for Senior Graduation and Recognition speeches are available in the Guidance Office. They are due to Mrs. Lee-Iwai on March 30th.
• The Neptunian Women’s Club Scholarship application due date has been moved up from April 11th to April 10th. Return applications and art/music samples to the CCC by April 10th in order to be considered.
• If you are planning on attending a UC or Cal State you may need to take placement tests in Math and/or English. The testing deadline for most Cal States is Sat., May 5th. The UC Testing day is Sat., May 12th. Be sure to check your campus to see if you are required to test!!! Additional information can be found on the CSU Mentor and UC websites.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• PJ Test Prep is offering a free SAT or ACT test and tips seminar Saturday, April 7th. Register at www.pjtestprep.com or come to the CCC for more info.
• Cornish College of the Arts, Seattle WA TODAY, March 28th 4th period. Interested students can sign up on Naviance.
• El Camino will be offering Math and English placement tests at MCHS on Monday, April 23rd and Tuesday, April 24th from 1-3pm. Students must have submitted their application to El Camino and have a student ID # in order to test. Sign up in the CCC. Space is limited.
FACULTY
