STUDENT INFORMATION
• Attention all students, anyone interested in joining ASB Student Government for 2012-2013 MUST ATTEND a mandatory meeting either tomorrow the 27th or Thursday the 29th. For more information, see Mrs. Claypoole in Room 43
• Tryouts for the Cheer & Song Squads will be held Monday, April 16th- Thursday, April 19th in the Cafeteria. A mandatory Tryout Meeting will be held Wednesday, April 11th. At least one parent/guardian and the interested candidate must be in attendance. We will review the Tryout Process, Program Guidelines & Expectations, as well as answer questions. This will be the ONLY tryout for the 2012-2013 Cheer & Song Squads. Tryout Packets are available for pick up in the Main Office as well as online at www.mchspepsquad.com
• This year Reflections Club is holding cover design contest. Turn in any black/white submission to Room 18 or email to [email protected]. Winner will receive a $25 gift card to Pages Book Store!
• This is the last week to vote for California Young Reader Medal books. Come by the library to vote! Also come by the library to learn about our new collection of ebooks you can check out and read online and about our premium EasyBib account to help you with research citations.
CLUBS / ORGANIZATION
• Ping Pong Club is back for 2nd semester! Come to the small gym TODAY at lunch and have a great time.
• Be rational! Come to Amnesty international! Every Tuesday in Room 72 at lunch.
SPORTS
• Come to the annual Costa vs Loyola volleyball match at LMU on Friday, 3/30 at 7pm.
SENIORS.
• Applications for Senior Graduation and Recognition speeches are available in the Guidance Office. They are due to Mrs. Lee-Iwai on March 30th.
• The Neptunian Women’s Club Scholarship application due date has been moved up from April 11th to April 10th. Return applications and art/music samples to the CCC by April 10th in order to be considered.
• If you are planning on attending a UC or Cal State you may need to take placement tests in Math and/or English. The testing deadline for most Cal States is Sat., May 5th. The UC Testing day is Sat., May 12th. Be sure to check your campus to see if you are required to test!!! Additional information can be found on the CSU Mentor and UC websites.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
• PJ Test Prep is offering a free SAT or ACT test and tips seminar Saturday, April 7th. Register at www.pjtestprep.com or come to the CCC for more info.
• Cornish College of the Arts, Seattle WA-Wednesday, March 28th 4th period. Interested students can sign up on Naviance.
• El Camino will be offering Math and English placement tests at MCHS on Monday, April 23rd and Tuesday, April 24th from 1-3pm. Students must have submitted their application to El Camino and have a student ID # in order to test. Sign up in the CCC. Space is limited.
